Social Media Marketing

Whatever your sign, and whatever your goal -- building a business, advertising an existing one, meeting new people, meeting a partner, the Internet has much to offer. I have been helping people 'market' on the Internet, for free, for over a decade. Call me an early-adopter.

As we enter a more expansive time, astrologically, it's a good time to hone your skills in the area of social media marketing -- whether you're an extrovert or an introvert.

Here is a great summary article by Robin, Social Media Marketing 101.

Some tips by astrological sign:

Leo -- Blog, twitter, txt - do them all, but get out there yourself and shine it on. Join chambers, interest groups, go to conventions and give talks at book stores.

Cancer - You may prefer the Internet alone for your "socializing." Set up a facebook account and start a blog. You can do it all from the comfort of your home!!

Libra -- you great strategist, start with this article and make a list with your goal in mind.

Scorpio -- It's a power play to make sure you ping your blogs -- try PingMyBlog.com or pingomatic.com -- they do all the work for you.

I'd love to be your astrologer and psychic. I know the ropes. let me guide you on what's the best strategy for YOU.

Astrologically a trying time for relationships

Astrologically, this is a trying time for relationships.

Scorpios are being more secretive, and showing a bit of tail at that. Leos are being more arrogant. Tauruses are being more stubborn. Pisces are being more 'swimmy.'

Astrologically, the signs are tending to express their downsides, their unmindful sides, their unevolved personalities.

Not, of course, you, dear reader, because your are mindful and informed.

Just watch out for those around you who seem to be determined right now to be the most annoying they can be.

Hallelujah Comments by Astrological Sign

From Cohen: "I wanted to write something in the tradition of the hallelujah choruses but from a different point of view... It's the notion that there is no perfection ~ that this is a broken world and we live with broken hearts and broken lives but still that is no alibi for anything. On the contrary, you have to stand up and say hallelujah under those circumstances."

Cohen's original has now been viewed 6,323,398 times on youtube..

Scorpio - Tied you to a kitchen chair? What a turnon! But really this song has deep meanings that go way below the surface. It has a lot of Judaism in it, the Old Testament, spirituality.

Libra - At first I was sure Buckley's was the best, but then I took the time to listen to the other ones and I have to admit I was wrong.

Leo - It's about the big picture. It's so big I don't think a lot of people really get it. The only thing I don't get is, what does that mean "All I've ever learned from love is how to shoot somebody who outdrew you"?

Aries - Take a look at K. D. Lang's. She has the fire.

Cancer - It all went wrong? He said he'd been in that room before and he used to live alone. That's so sad. I hope he doesn't have to end up living alone.

Virgo - A shame he had to use "ya" to rhyme with "hallelujah". Is it really a 4th, a 5th? Better check that out. And how does that incident give "proof" of faith. It certainly isn't anything scientific. BTW it isn't the pop chart, it's the Christmas chart.

Taurus - Bathing at night in the moonlight .. nice touch.

Sagittarius - If you'd been anywhere, like I have, I've traveled to Tibet and done the Buddhist thing too, you would see the deep spirituality of this song and how the chord of David means saying the right thing at the right time to the right person in the right tone and pitch of voice, you know, so it's music to their ears.

Capricorn - Seems to me that he shouldn't have gotten involved with her. I mean if you say you can't feel then you shouldn't lead someone on.

Pisces - If your faith is strong, you don't need proof. This song is about heaven, about other worlds beyond this one, about the oneness of it all. There really is a blaze of light in every word. Who's to say it all went wrong? There's a bigger design.

Aquarius - At least he knows how the world is supposed to be. As to the versions, I think everyone should have the freedom to choose the one they like, and that all the opinions should be equal.

Gemini - Kinda tired of listening to it. The emotions are too complex, whatever he's saying. Makes my stomach hurt.

From BBC News Magazine's "Just whose hallelujah is it anyway?"

As the Bishop of Croydon put it in a recent Radio 2 documentary, "what it comes from is being open and transparent before God and the world and saying 'this is how it is, mate'".

Send us your comments on the song, and your zodiacal sign. Here are some early comments:

Leo with Cancer rising: Play this at my funeral. Play this and then Handel's real "Hallelujah Choris" and then send 'em home.

Taurus: I really like this version. I didn't realize how handsome he is. I guess I haven't seen his picture for decades!

Leo: To keep living in the face of inevitable “Bafflement” or God forbid, even despair we must agree to that last line. THAT is to praise the Lord, to agree to life, to be fully alive. It’s not whether it’s broken or holy but that you still say Hallelujah.

Erich (sign uknown): recommends Allison Crowe's version, a double Scorpio he says. "The song itself is just so emotionally resonant," said Crowe. Crowe, like Lang, like Cohen, is Canadian.

Announcer: It means totally different things to whoever listens to it, and whoever sings it.

Cohen's Hallelujah, by Cohen, by K. D. Lang

Oh the Virgo, my readers, the tender-hearted Virgo.

This song, this prayer, Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah can be taken at many different levels. Taken at the level of a relationship between a man and a woman, THE defining line is "But you don't really care for music, do ya?" Watch below, it occurs at .18.

Look at Cohen, the Virgo's eyes - the pain of making such a statement about a loved one ... the gentle acceptance of the unalterable. The utter soul-kindness, IMO, of the evolved Virgo. Watch closely his eyes.

Watch, keeping in mind that according to my Canadian source, apparently none of his exes has an unkind word to say about him. Do you doubt why?

We will now do a comparison. Take a look at how fellow Canadian, K. D. Lang, does the cover, and this is a powerful version in its own right. This is at the Juno awards in Winnepeg, 2005.

First of all, this is SCORPIO. The sexy, secretive, intense Scorpio.

It takes her 22 seconds to prepare, and watch the focus of the preparation. According to her chart, her temperament is nervous. Her chart has lots of water signs. Her heart and her emotions are her driving force and she can't do anything on Earth if she doesn't feel a strong affective charge. With fewer than the average fires signs, chart says she may appear to lack warmth, enthusiasm, appearing indifferent to others, which is not true .. and watch her work her way up to this, to let go.

(A Virgo "let go"? Uh uh)

Sensitivity dominated by reason, it's like she analyzed how to show this, and show it she did. Watch the incredible hand motions -- they remind me of Edith Piaf's, what defined "the little sparrow." And these are orchestrated as only a Scorpio can -- watch what she does with the mike cord when she sings about "tied you to her kitchen chair."

Now when SHE sings the line at .36 secs, watch her go into what I call "that Scorpio scorn." In ending relationships, dear reader, the Scorpio usually takes no prisoners.

Also note her subdued reaction at the end, as the crowd applauds. Ah, the mystery of what is broiling inside a Scorpio!

Beautiful, beautiful. Thank you Leonard Cohen for your work.

Hang on, Relief in Sight

At last - what you want you can reach for.

We have all been on a roller coaster for several weeks (months?) Up and down ... sounds great, OH NO ... expansion, contraction, got it in the bag - whoops, know what I want, no I don't ... this is it, but others won't cooperate.

Amounts to (depending on your astrological sign)
  • frustration (Leo),
  • anger Scorpio),
  • defeatism (Aries. Aries, feeling defeated?? you KNOW it's bad),
  • confusion (Gemini),
  • tuning out (Libra),
  • intellectualization (Taurus),
  • feeling stuck (Pisces),
  • and so forth.

If I left your sign out, you know what you've been going through.

Well relief is on the way. Big ideas will start to come, unless you hold them back from FEAR, as Mercury (the great communicator) moves into conjunct with Jupiter (the Big One).

Also Aquarius-the-Intelligent Moon will enable us. Get back to your dreams.

Call me for a reading, to move this forward. I can help you with the "fear" part and we've ALL got "nerves" after the past couple weeks - months.

I'm here to help. sdunn@susandunn.cc . 817-741-7223.

Dealing with a Scorpio Now?

What's up with those gorgeous, secretive Scorpios these days?

Found on a website. The topic at hand was how unattractive it is to be needy on any level.

This was the reply:

I agree with this one: "how unattractive it is to be needy on any level"

Neediness is rooted in fear and cowardice & it is a really debilitating and ugly emotion to carry.

I know because I'm fighting temporary neediness right now!! LOL.

And as a Scorp, I hate feeling I need someone... but sometimes you just ache.

Scorpios do have a hard time "admitting" things like needing someone, like they think it's a weakness or something. I don't think it's rooted in fear and cowardice, but that's the way those normally COURGEOUS Scorpios sometimes look at it. Especially during this Pluto transit that's stressing us in points where we need to loosen up and/or change or grow. It could even be some karma in your chart we could take a look at.

We need each other. It's the DESPERATE neediness that needs a second look. And yes, sometimes we do just ache.

Need to talk about this? Email me to schedule a reading - sdunn@susandunn.cc .

I'll be waiting.

Welcome Scorpios

Welcome Scorpios!

In Arabic Al Akrab - wounding, war, conflict.
In Coptic - Isisdis - attack of the enemy.

Famous Scorpios:

Voltaire (11-21-1694)
Marie Antoinette (11-2-1755)
John Keats (11-31-1795)
Theodore Roosevelt (10-27-1858)
Pablo Picasso (10-35-1881)
George Patton (11-11-1885)
Robert F. Kennedy (11-20-1925)
Ted Turner (11-19-1938)
Hilary Rodham Clinton (10-26-1947)
Bill Gates (10-28-55)
Jodi Foster (11-19-62)
Leonardo DiCaprio (11-11-74)

Beware the sting of the scorpion!

Antares, one of the most visible stars in the Heavens, is in the heart of Scorpio. Visible because it's 400 times larger than the Sun. This intense fiery energy at the center of the constellation is at the center of Scorpios. We know the for their driving passions.

Most Scorpios are battling with a duality, a conflict. For Scorpios this is a "normal" state. Their symbols are the crawling scorpion and then the soaring eagle.

Whenever I read for a Scorpio, I can tell right away. First because I'm psychic. Second, because they usually sit in a position that says "I dare you to try and look in to me."

Secretive? Yes, you Scorpios are.

What's Up with Geminis?

Today I read at the Dallas Psychic Fair. It's like a microcosm - a small picture of a bigger picture. Like an example of what this month's reading selection has been like.

Here's what's going on.

  • The first 6 people to sit down were Geminis. (A current transit is stressing the heck out of them.) It will pass. But a good time for a reading.
  • The Leos looked stunned - they've been put through the wringer, and were happy but didn't know why. Why? Because psychically they 'know' that this past week's new moon, solar eclipse in Leo, was the Mother of all NEW BEGINNINGS. Suggest a reading in 2 weeks.
  • The Scorpios are braced, as if they're about to be hit. Even more vigilant and mysterious than usual ... one of them did not give his real name. Scorps will be hit, we'll all be hit with surprises from now to November, but being prepared is what it's all about. Scorps should get a reading NOW, to prepare for your individual situation.
  • Pisces are getting hit hard by people around them looking for comfort during this bumpy ride. They're ready for some relief.
I spent some time this weekend with a former professional boxer who also did boxing coaching. Since I coach, I had him show me some moves. That head bobbing, I asked, what's that all about? He said if you duck your head, which is the usual reaction, you'll get clobbered because YOU CAN'T SEE.

So two watchwords for what's coming -- keep your head up, prepared, so you can SEE; and keep your knees bent, like for water skiing. Then you'll be fine.

Scorpio Moon

Typical of this Full Moon in Scorpio, when people try to get away with things and violence and negativity increase:

From "Courting Disaster" by Jonah Goldberg:

But then there's the question of the Supreme Court. And here, at least for me, skepticism melts away into real anxiety, even panic.

Consider the stunning decision handed down from the Supreme Court this week.

The court ruled that the state of Kentucky may continue to use lethal injections when administering the death penalty. But that's not what's shocking. Nor was it surprising that for the first time Justice John Paul Stevens admitted he thinks the death penalty is unconstitutional.

What is staggering, or at least should be, is that Stevens freely
admits that he no longer considers "objective evidence" or even the plain text of the Constitution determinative of what is or isn't constitutional: "I have relied on my own experience in reaching the conclusion that the imposition of the death penalty" is unconstitutional.

Justice Antonin Scalia, in a blistering response, justifiably exclaimed
that, "Purer expression cannot be found of the principle of rule by judicial fiat."

Mars Retrograde and Plans

This has been a very challenging Mars Retrograde. Lots of anger energy to deal with, old issues, arguments, conflict. It will end at the end of February and this is a good time to start your New Year.

If this is a '7' year for you, it's a great time to be making plans for fruition in the '8' year coming up. Call me for a reading on this. It will be a rough ride if you aren't prepared for what lies ahead this year.

It's important that you clarify what you want, in realistic terms. If you continue being confused about what you want, the Universe will continue to send confusing options, things you don't want, things that are "almost but not quite." You'll keep having impossible choices, and also things where one part of it was excellent, but it didn't fit together at all. If this is you, email me now - semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com .

Special message for Scorpio - this one has been from hell. If you are back in the cave wondering what hit, you aren't alone.

Leo? You got misinformation. Fall back and retrace your steps and try again. This time listen carefully to the messages you get. He didn't suggest divorce because of more social security, he really wanted a divorce.

FREE READINGS AVAILABLE through the end of this month to help you find your path. New Year's predictions too.

How to Please Your Scorpio Guy

How to please your Scorpio guy?
Oh, how they love the mystery and surprise.
They're also big on appearance, and presentation - like you, and also their food.
Here are some tips:

  • They are the elemental sensual sign - so figs! But you knew that. Fresh figs are best. Fig newtons will do.
  • Not big on sweets.
  • Fruit cake of all things. I've never known a Scorpio who didn't love a dense, packed fruit cake.
  • Dress like you're worthy of him, LOL. Choose deep mysterious royal colors like black, royal purple or dark red.
  • Anything with a hidden center - bacon wrapped chestnuts, deviled eggs, anything stuffed, also sensuous things like raw oysters, grapes and POMEGRANATE. Jelly filled doughnuts, that pound cake with the sour cream in the middle, that molten chocolate cake - and put a little hazelnut in the chocolate. It's best when the little surprise is "hidden" so fried surprises are great.
  • Go to a dark, mysterious place. Dark lighting! Or have your house very dark and mysteriously sensual and romantic. Try black sheets or royal purple silk sheets on the bed.
  • Slightly piquant cheeses like feta and cream cheese.
  • The CLASSIC cheese cake, please; skip all the fruity stuff (unless you can figure how to get it in the middle, LOL)

Mars Retrograde: Energy is Heating Up

Yes, Mars Retrograde is heating things up, for good or for ill. Tempers are more likely to flare, especially if you're a fire sign and you will find people over-reacting all over the place.

A GOOD use of the Mars Retrograde energy is to learn patience and emotional intelligence. When there is energy, there are always many ways to use it. If you are incensed about something, you can do what you can to right a wrong in an assertive fashion, OR you can take it out on someone else, or be aggressive to another person.

This is a time when emotions will be on our sleeves. If you're doing OK, you'll still have to deal with the people who aren't.

It's also a good time to learn there is a season for all things. We are all feeling a push to "solve this once and for all." Not only is there no such thing, but it's also not a wise thing to do. When you push, you get a push BACK.

Learn how to use this energy. Email me for a reading, semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com .

Combined with the holidays you may feel yourself going into some kind of black hole. Cancers and Scorpios will be more prone to do this, so if your partner is one of those signs, get a reading and check this out. So you can learn how to deal with it.

I'll be available all during the holidays. Please do not hesitate to call me or email me. I'm here to help.

Thanksgiving Dinner Etiquette

Thanksgiving Dinner Etiquette- Holiday Manners
How to be a great Thanksgiving Guest, and have a more enjoyable time! It's all about emotional intelligence.

From the article:

The days of dining by plucking fruit from trees and roasting small animals over the fire, eating with fingers, and perhaps fighting with others over the scraps are long gone. Or are they? More and more we swing our car through the drive-in, grab our food from the window, and proceed to eat with our fingers, so perhaps you need a brush-up on the basics of formal – shall we say “civilized” dining – before the great Thanksgiving feast.

Rules of civilized dining evolved because, according to Margaret Visser (“Rituals of Dinner”), “animals are slaughtered and consumed, the guest-host relationship is … a complicated interweaving of the imposition of obligation and the suspension of hostility, and the ordinary table knife is related to actual weapons of war.”

The holidays, and Mars Retrograde will be a good time to practice your emotional intelligence because you will get lots of opportunities. Alert: Especially challenging for fixed signs.
