I love concierges. I wish they were everywhere, don't you? I think of what I do as kind of being a concierge. I help people find their path, give directions, point out signposts, point out obstacles and routes around them. You can learn so much by having your natal chart or spiritual life purpose chart done, or in a reading.

ABOUT CONCIERFES

Mr. Bladewell, at the Capthorne in London, was terrific. They took me to the wrong hotel, which I learned at 11 pm at night, after 15 hours air travel, and by the time I got to the Capthorne, I was so grateful to see his smiling face. He picked up the phone, and wouldn't take "no" for an answer. He made sure the tour bus would come for me in the morning, found me an adapter for my hotel room, showed me where I could eat at midnight, got a box breakfast for me for the morning, and got me a refund for the cab fare over there.

Xavier, at the Barcelona Hotel was also outstanding. He did not know the word "no." The only things he knew how to say were "Yes," and "Yes, I can do that for you." Fantastic!

I queued up in line, and while I was there, he found an Internet site for someone, changed a plane ticket, fixed a hotel overcharge, ran upstairs with me to personally fix my hotel safe, got Flamenco tickets for someone, hailed a cab, got a group of strangers together to share cab fare somewhere, ordered a pizza, recommended a spy, gave directions, handed out maps (always had the right one right there), rebooted the computer, asked someone not to butt in line, and spoke 3 languages.

It's a great concept. I think it's essential in today's world.

In fact, it's spreading. I went to buy my new cell phone yesterday, and there's nothing wrong with the cell phone business. The store was mobbed, and my head was mobbed with thoughts of - learn new cell phone, reprogram numbers, sim card, fuss and bother.

I was met at the door by a smiling young man who said, "What do you need today? Let me get you to the right person." What a relief!

Most important, is the helpful attitude. Their job is to help people, and they love their work.

This time of year - astrologically (specific only to this time), PLUS the holidays PLUS the economic situation has emotions set high. It's running in the background for all of us, and it clouds clear thinking.

What's her sign? First of all, no one apparently knows the time of her birth, but we have the date, January 17th ,1964. So she's a Capricorn. "The Ultimate Capricorn" says Lutin in his assessment Michelle Obama: The Ultimate Capricorn. Personally I like to work with a person's Rising Sign, especially when it's a polished performer like a politician, or a politician's wife, because it's how we perceive a person ... but her rising sign we don't know either. I agree with another astrologer who suspects it might be Leo.

StarsOverWashington thinks she's a Cap with an Aquarius Moon, like Carl Sandburg and Muhammed Ali. Yeah, she packs a wallop. Carl Sandburg isn't your average kinda poet. I dozed off during poetry time in high school English class until I got hit with (I'll never forget):

Dow falls - from the viewpoint of astrology

Today we had the biggest fall in the Dow ever. Even surpassing 9/11. Pluto. Yes, I've been telling you - it's heavy and it means "change" and "surprises." Not all of them nice.

This is so much what is going on now. The drastic drop in the Dow happened to the collective. There are similar things, similiar in scope and magnitude, going on in our private lives.

The Dow fell 777.68 points. That's dizzying.

Hang on to your hat. There will be more.

One of the commentators said the fall is because "we don't like not knowing."

Rough sailing till November 28 when Pluto changes signs

We mourn the loss of Paul Newman who chose this time to cross over. There was much more to him than those blue eyes, and yet there will never again be blue eyes like that.

A Wedding

I went to a family wedding last weekend in D C. Is there ever such a moment as when the bride and groom have their first dance.

Below, the mother of the groom watches as the groom and officiator await the arrival of the bridesmaids. Very Plutonic to have a wedding at this time. It was held in a beautiful park, outside. With perfect weather, the couple was surely blessed by the stars.

The bride from Russia, where wedding customs are quite different, chose fanciful cupcake-cakes - a dragon, dragonfly, bumblebee, butterfly, and more. I predict this marriage will be full of fun, surprises, and individuality.

A Time of Redos, Makeovers, Changes

I've been saying that between now and November, to expect surprises, reversals, big changes, and more of the same.

Faleesha has done just that. I hadn't talked to her in a couple of months, and what was her news? She is back with her boyfriend; she has changed her administrative assistant after 10 years; and she is moving her office back to where it used to be.

These are the kinds of reversals and changes that are happening these days.

Another one?

Marcella has had her eye on this guy and he has been flirting with her outrageously. She thought she had found her guy. Well last night she found out from someone else that he is married. She emailed me, "It's too bad, but I'm relieved. Now I can get on with my life. Lucky I found out when I did."

What's Up with Geminis?

Today I read at the Dallas Psychic Fair. It's like a microcosm - a small picture of a bigger picture. Like an example of what this month's reading selection has been like.

Here's what's going on.

• The first 6 people to sit down were Geminis. (A current transit is stressing the heck out of them.) It will pass. But a good time for a reading.
  
• The Leos looked stunned - they've been put through the wringer, and were happy but didn't know why. Why? Because psychically they 'know' that this past week's new moon, solar eclipse in Leo, was the Mother of all NEW BEGINNINGS. Suggest a reading in 2 weeks.
  
• The Scorpios are braced, as if they're about to be hit. Even more vigilant and mysterious than usual ... one of them did not give his real name. Scorps will be hit, we'll all be hit with surprises from now to November, but being prepared is what it's all about. Scorps should get a reading NOW, to prepare for your individual situation.
• Pisces are getting hit hard by people around them looking for comfort during this bumpy ride. They're ready for some relief.
  

I spent some time this weekend with a former professional boxer who also did boxing coaching. Since I coach, I had him show me some moves. That head bobbing, I asked, what's that all about? He said if you duck your head, which is the usual reaction, you'll get clobbered because YOU CAN'T SEE.

So two watchwords for what's coming -- keep your head up, prepared, so you can SEE; and keep your knees bent, like for water skiing. Then you'll be fine.
