Ray Garrett Jr, SEC Chairman, Beloved by his Family and Friends

Ray Garrett, Jr., former chairman of the SEC, who died at his Second Saturn Return, in 1980, is pictured in the center. He was my beloved father. A Leo. He was the 19th chairman. Here is a website in his honor.
June 25, 2009, family and friends of Ray Garrett will gather in Washington, D. C. fot the Celebration Dinner for the 75th Anniversary of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), hosted by the Commission's Historical Society. Ray Garrett was the emcee for the 25th, and 45th of these historical moments. The museum, archive and the Society are independent of and separate from the SEC and receive no federal funding.

His daughter, my sister, Nancy Worcester, worked harding getting the preliminaries for this grand occasion in place. First things first - the donations. Here she is mailing off the checks via FedEx.

)Below) This is the gorgeous building where the event will take place. If you are reading this, and are a friend or admirer or Ray Garrett Jr. and would like to attend, or make a contribute (we are currently seeking $1,500 more, to allow for a half-page tributary for him in the Program) please email me - sdunn@susandunn.cc - and let me know. We have extra seats available, and we didn't mean to leave you out.

Saturn Opposes Uranus: Time for Debates and an Election in YOUR OWN LIFE

It isn't just election time for the president, it's election time for your life.
It's no coincidence that a presidential election focusing on the old established order v. change and revolution occurs on November 4th,
as Saturn moves to oppose Uranus.

Saturn Opposes Uranus
November 4, 2008 - July 2010

Get ready for the ride!

This planetary oppostion is no small event. The last time it happened was in the 60s, and you know what a time of great social and political upheaval that was. The Hippies ... our first (ever) Catholic president ... assassinations ... LBJ and affirmative action ... emptying the mental institutions ... Vietnam which left thousands of Vietnam vets with PTSS ... the stock market heading into the lowest territory in decades (to be fixed by Ray Garrett's deregulation of stock commissions) ... "Things were never the same again."

It's no coincidence this Opposition happens on Election Day when we have two candidates whose stands almost speak for Saturn (represents the old established order, the old way of doing things, and security) and Uranus (whose Name is Change, and doing it all a new way).
I'm not telling you who to vote for for president, I'm asking you a much, much more important question: HOW ARE YOU GOING TO VOTE IN YOUR OWN LIFE.

The excitement builds ... can you feel the tension, fear, giddiness? The immense life-changing force of the Old Man Saturn moves in opposition to Uranus - the Great Awakener, the Loose Cannon on Deck.

This rare and forceful Opposition will literally FORCE you to take a hard look at your life and making changes. When Chaos and Structure take a stand-off, it breaks downs walls and limitations and brings in creative new ideas for ways of doing Your Life. It's a good time to take a look at what is not working in your life. And yes, for sure it can be upsetting.

I felt from the beginning this Election was like no other. Now it's coming out in the news (The 08 Race: A Sea Change for Politics as We Know It, NY Times) New Rules. Beginning to get the idea?
Take a look at my blog http://semiramisastrologer.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html and you'll see I called the Palin/Baden right, and based on the fact that Palin wouldn't be playing by the Old Rules.

So now YOU are going to have your own debate and election about your own Life. Let it be positive and life-changing, and let me be your guide.

Ger readings often and regularly. It will help with the bends ... sea change, you know.

Love and peace,
Susan(Semiramis)

The Perseids - shooting stars

THE PERSEIDS METEOR SHOWER will peak August 11

Famous birthdays, August 11
  • Ray Garrett, Jr., former chairman of the SEC
  • Arlene Dahl, actress
  • Hulk Hogan, wrestler
This spectacular display of SHOOTING STARS that occurs every summer is named Perseids because it appears to come from the constellation, Perseus. It began around July 23rd, with one meteor per hour. There will be about 50-80 per hour by August 11-13.

It is believed that dreams come true on the night of the shooting stars. Be ready for some action in your love life.

ABOUT METEORS

Meteors are bits of debris left behind by comets. The Perseid is from the Comet Swift-Tuttle, the largest object known to make repeated passes near the Earth. It's nucleus, about 6 miles across, is "roughly equal to the object that wiped out dinosaurs." (www.space.com).

The shooting stars are fast. They enter the
Earth’s atmosphere at over 133,000 mph. They range in size from a grain of sand to peas and marbles. When they hit the ground (rare), they are called meteorites.

When the Perseid particle enters the atmosphere, it compresses the air in front of it, which heats up. The meteor can become more than 3,000 degrees. This intense heat then vaporizes the meteors, creating what we call SHOOTING STARS.

From space.com:
Some large meteors splatter, causing a brighter flash called a fireball, and sometimes an explosion that can often be heard from the ground.

The Swift-Tuttle has a 13- year orbit around the Sun. Each time it has left a trail, and each trail has meteors. The best time to view is pre-dawn. This year, there will be a bright moon (gibbous) which will set about 1:30 a.m. Then the sky will be dark enough for good observation. The show began around July 17th, but the full moon interfered with vision. There will be about 10 other showers going on at the same time, including the Kappa Cygnids.

This is a good time to get a reading about your dreams coming true!
