What is going on with them?
Many of my calls and reading lately have been about someone who has to deal with a Scorpio male.

The Full moon, and the lunar eclipse have not helped matters.

Basically speaking (specific charts, of course, are different), Scorpio males are going through a period of not knowing what they want and this is extremely stressful for (1) a male (2) a Scorpio (3) a fixed sign. Being intense and secretive, the Scorpio man, unless highly-evolved, simply does not have the practice with words to make communicate easy. So to be confused, and then be confused about what to say about, brings that famous TAIL around to anyone who comes close enough.

Dating has gotten more complicated, there’s no question about it.

What most women want to know is how to attract (and keep) a man. In other words, What does a man want? We know the usual stuff - We know that men like to be told what we want, not to have to guess. We know that when they get grumpy or withdrawn, they “go in the cave,” and want to be left alone, and that it usually isn’t about us, they just want time alone. Especially if you’ve got a Scorpio, let your magnetic, mysterious guy crawl off and hide when he needs to. He’s charismatic, and you may dread his going off, but it’s worth it to avoid the sting of an annoyed Scorpio.

We also know men like to be listened to with respect. In fact, someone has said that “to be a man is to be listened to.” Well, yes, he probably likes to talk, and when he does, he wants us just to listen. He is not interested in feedback, just an audience, a sounding board. Any ‘comments’ may be construed as criticism, or that you assume he’s ‘weak’ and needs ‘help.’ Be particularly careful with this with an Aries guy. They cannot stand to be “criticized”.

Incidentally, this will be more pleasant with a Gemini guy, because they are usually excellent in diplomacy and will dazzle you with their mercurial wit and brilliance.

Men can’t stand it when we don’t say we’re mad when we are, but let it fester. It’s especially annoying when we store it as resentment, and then ‘attack’ them at a snuggly time. (This is like sabotage and builds up a sort of avoidance routine you don’t want to get in to.) If you’ve got a Cancer guy, be especially careful about this. They’re naturally psychic, so you can’t fool them, they know. So own up, get it out, get it over with.

Men want us to talk sweet! Teasing and sarcasm are turnoffs, as well as confusing. The knee-jerk reaction from a guy is to consider it an attack. With your Taurus guy, it should quickly develop into a silent rapport that is easier to deal with.

Men like to be acknowledged! (Don’t we all!) Catch him doing something right (or good or that you like) and thank him and you’ll likely get more of this. This works particularly well on a Leo because he cannot stand being controlled or dictated to. Handle him right and he is the most generous and magnanimous of the signs. Acknowledging the good things he does will cause the King of the Jungle to sheathe those claws and purr like a pussycat.

We know that men liked to be loved just as they are. Take special caution with your Aquarius guy. They are almost unbelievably independent. Any suggestion of ‘change,’ will engender, “It’s MY life!” That’s not what you meant, but why go there?

Guys also like reassurance. Once he knows you’re in it for the long-haul, heart and soul, he will fall right in line. You first! Especially if your love is a Virgo. To the Virgo male, love is not dramatic, emotional, or sentimental, it is devotion. Say it, show it, give it, and you will get.

Dec. 12 Full Moon in Gemini with intense Grand Square

A Gemini Full Moon is usually free-hearted and light-spirited. But this one is joined by a very intense grand square: Mars/Sun in Sagittarius opposing Moon in Gemini, and Saturn in Virgo opposing Uranus in Pisces.

So it's a time to "save it," as we say. Keep your mouth shut until you're sure what's going to come out of it is what you want. "Keep your words sweet. You might have to eat them." Ignore some things in order to preserve relationships. If you get nervous, don't babble.

Beware the sting of the scorpion!

An Astrologist's Opinion about the Palin Biden Debate

I'm a clairvoyant astrologer. I use psychic gifts as well as astrology and the cards. I was asked for an astrologer's comment on the Palin Biden Debate.

What's most important going on right now astrologically is not Mercury Retrograde (though it matters), nor Pluto entering Capricorn November 28 (very important), but the Saturn-Uranus opposition.

Political debates have long been ritualized, to the point of rigidity. Typically, this one will follow the formal (read: formalized) debate format of 90-second answer and 2-minute follow-ups. Even within that, there are certain unwritten rules that every seasoned professional politician knows. (Saturn)

But guess what? Palin won't be playing by those rules. She doesn't even know them. That's why her interviews sound so odd. Even her voice, her accent. We haven't heard or seen anyone like this in a LONG TIME. She creates the game and the rules, and wins. She doesn't fit in any slot we're familiar with. (Uranus) How is Senator Biden going to deal with that?

Biden has been coached, it appears, about not talking down to her in the debates or pontificating on like senators, judges and other "Saturn" types are prone to do. (I think of the lawyer who told me, when I was trying to figure out a brief I was reading, "The point of legal commuication is not to communicate.")

Palin, on the other hand, was quoted in "Debate Offers Palin, Biden high risks, Big rewards," as saying, "[Biden]'s got a tremendous amount of experience and, you know, I'm the new energy, the new face, the new ideas and he's got the experience ...

Could this BE more Saturn-Uranus?

And you bet it's a choice as the two face off -- Saturn (experience, tradition) and Uranus (newness, change) I mean.

So here we'll have Biden expecting that "three strikes and you're out," but Palin will still be standing at the plate for the next pitch. He'll catch her fly ball and consider her out, but she'll keep running the bases. Well even more than this, he'll be thinking they're playing football, while she's playing some version of chess she made up.

How can you win when you think you're playing a game, with certain rules, when you are not. With Biden confused by all this (watch his nonverbals), Palin will have the upperhand.

She may lose the "battles," but she's going to win the war.

The New York Times said Biden might have trouble with his spontaneity. I think it's Palin's spontaneity he will be having trouble with.

Maybe we're tired of politicians who make sense, because they so rarely do anyway.

There's something refreshing about Palin. And in the last analysis, it isn't her ability to "engage with Sen. Biden" that matters. It's a much bigger game than that, folks. It will be the feel of the debate not the actual words.

Babe Ruth couldn't explain how he was able to hit so many home runs. But hit them he did.

Top this off with the effect of Pluto entering Capricorn (see the blog of Astrologer Nancy Fenn, http://nancyfenn.blogspot.com/ ).

Dow falls - from the viewpoint of astrology

Today we had the biggest fall in the Dow ever. Even surpassing 9/11. Pluto. Yes, I've been telling you - it's heavy and it means "change" and "surprises." Not all of them nice.

This is so much what is going on now. The drastic drop in the Dow happened to the collective. There are similar things, similiar in scope and magnitude, going on in our private lives.

The Dow fell 777.68 points. That's dizzying.

Hang on to your hat. There will be more.

One of the commentators said the fall is because "we don't like not knowing."

Rough sailing till November 28 when Pluto changes signs

We mourn the loss of Paul Newman who chose this time to cross over. There was much more to him than those blue eyes, and yet there will never again be blue eyes like that.

As with many of our gifts, this one had another side. Those beautiful blue eyes were color blind. He could not appreciate them himself.

Until Pluto changes signs November 23, it will be intense. It already is. It's all about drastic change. By choice or being forced to. Or longing to. Or having 2 "impossible" choices to make. Or 3, but neither of them seems right. Also a time of surprises. Things entering the picture that could not have been conceived of. Things will leave that need to leave. This is a really hard time.

This is a time when you leap over tall buildings, or leap off tall buildings - metaphoroically speaking.

Cameron Diaz the Virgo

Cameron Diaz telling her boyfriend, Paul Sculfor, who had moved his stuff into her house, that she vants to be alone?? A VirgO?

Cameron, who admitted to being commitment phobic on the Ellen Degeneres show, has had her history with this.

So what's in the chart of this VIRGO that might make her so commitment shy?

Well she's independent, for sure. A moon in Taurus - she likes her stability and security, but there's also the conjunct Mars (fighter! masculine planet!) which is where she gets that kind of boyish energy and personality as well as wanting to be the boss in relationships. And not liking to be confined. Picture the bull in the china shop.


Her Venus is squared by Uranus, the planet of revolution and rebellion. They don't like to be dependent on others.

Virgos often live alone for long periods because they're so picky, picky ...

At the same time, all of us have experienced a difficult past month. The solar eclipse (between eclipses really), which makes this a hard two weeks. Then we have the Pluto retrograde meaning "surprises." Well Paul certainly got one of those 'surprises' I've been talking about. And we might expect it to reverse itself again, and maybe another time, before we can all settle down to New Lives in November.

And then there's the Uranus Retrograde until November 26. A time to reconsider attempts at separation and individuation you tried before that didn't work. One fellow astrologer puts it well - watch the choices right now, because there's no turning back to the way it used to be.

Surely this is a hard time for her and we wish her the best.

If you've ever lived with a Virgo, as I have, you might agree it's delightful, once they consider it their home and you as part of it. And sad when it ends.

I mean, don't mess with people right now. Let sleeping dogs lie.

Until around August 26th, the energy is going to be awful.

F'rinstance, if you've been dating a woman for a while, and a gift occasion arises, don't give her a ring. She'll see that ring box and ... There's plenty of other jewelry to choose from, guys. DON'T TEASE.

Especially, don't mess with the Fixed Signs and the Fire Signs right now, and if you're dealing with one who's both (like a Leo), be patient and gentle. Otherwise you're likely to get claws.

The watchword from now until November is - surprises. Some you may like, others you may not. Whatever it is, it will change. You will provide unnecessary suffering to yourself and others if you resist change.

During this time period, situations and relationships you are in may flip-flop. Good, bad, then back again; some mild, some stronger. There will be beginnings and endings ... and they may flip-flop again. Consider all this "in flux" until November, and don't over-react to any one thing.

Remember other people are feeling it too.

Don't force any issues right now. Mainly because there's no reason to!

Meanwhile, remember to enjoy the shooting stars which will peak August 11-13. I talked to someone today who lives up on a hill where it gets dark, and she said she saw some last night and it was spectacular. The Pleides are putting a show for us all to enjoy.

This spectacular display of SHOOTING STARS that occurs every summer is named Perseids because it appears to come from the constellation, Perseus. It began around July 23rd, with one meteor per hour. There will be about 50-80 per hour by August 11-13.

It is believed that dreams come true on the night of the shooting stars. Be ready for some action in your love life.

ABOUT METEORS

Meteors are bits of debris left behind by comets. The Perseid is from the Comet Swift-Tuttle, the largest object known to make repeated passes near the Earth. It's nucleus, about 6 miles across, is "roughly equal to the object that wiped out dinosaurs." (www.space.com).


The shooting stars are fast. They enter the Earth’s atmosphere at over 133,000 mph. They range in size from a grain of sand to peas and marbles. When they hit the ground (rare), they are called meteorites.


When the Perseid particle enters the atmosphere, it compresses the air in front of it, which heats up. The meteor can become more than 3,000 degrees. This intense heat then vaporizes the meteors, creating what we call SHOOTING STARS.

From space.com:

Some large meteors splatter, causing a brighter flash called a fireball, and sometimes an explosion that can often be heard from the ground.

The Swift-Tuttle has a 13- year orbit around the Sun. Each time it has left a trail, and each trail has meteors. The best time to view is pre-dawn. This year, there will be a bright moon (gibbous) which will set about 1:30 a.m. Then the sky will be dark enough for good observation. The show began around July 17th, but the full moon interfered with vision. There will be about 10 other showers going on at the same time, including the Kappa Cygnids.

I spent some time this weekend with a former professional boxer who also did boxing coaching. Since I coach, I had him show me some moves. That head bobbing, I asked, what's that all about? He said if you duck your head, which is the usual reaction, you'll get clobbered because YOU CAN'T SEE.

So two watchwords for what's coming -- keep your head up, prepared, so you can SEE; and keep your knees bent, like for water skiing. Then you'll be fine.
