How to get Her Back

As Mars Retograde lurches forward, the mail bag is full of emails about getting the girlfriend back. This is just part of what goes on in Mars Retrograde, but you may find it affecting you.

It isn't as hard as it seems. The main thing between two people is the attraction, and you know that she was once attracted to you.

The method matters a whole lot, and you need to give her (SHOW her) a REASON why she should want to come back to you. This depends upon your astrological sign and hers. You can get some important tips on this from a reading. A Leo woman will probably want to know that you won't insult her again, or wound her pride. The Gemini woman will want reassurance that you really mean it this time, i.e., marriage.

Email for a reading at semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com. It could be the most important thing in your life.

Good Holiday Advice

Who do you want to be this holiday season?
Rx for Health , Dr. Susan E. Allen
Eagle-Tribune

Several years ago, my husband and I and our college-age children gathered for Thanksgiving dinner around a big table in the home of out-of-state relatives. The details aren't vital, but what is important is that when the four of us left to drive home, we apparently couldn't wait to get in the car and let out a collective and negative "Ahhhhh!"

While the food was great, and we all had more than enough, the mood during the day had been very different from what we would have hoped for on this day of gratitude and thanks. We slipped into disappointment, negativity, even judgment.

We criticized one cousin for talking about himself the whole time, expressed anger at distasteful comments, and generally agreed that this was not a pleasant time for us.

I will always remember that Thanksgiving, and in the years since then, I have not been proud of my own reactions to it. In fact, some of those cousins, aunts and uncles present may well have been just as critical of our ways. This is not unusual among families. It doesn't take a professional to realize the heightened emotional energy that many of us feel at various family gatherings, including weddings, summer vacations, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Hanukkah. There is arguably nothing more predictable in the field of mental health than the stresses and emotional upheaval that arise every November and December.

As we get older, there are even more new challenges during the holidays. Aging parents. Parents or siblings who have died. New "significant others" in the lives of sons and daughters. Children who have grown and moved away and are not able to be at home for the holidays. Perhaps the pain of divorce or the energy of a newly blended family.

We are challenged over and over again to face difficult relationships along with the easier ones. We are challenged to engage with people who bring out the less likable parts of ourselves as well as those who bring out the best in us. We are challenged to seek reconciliation and acceptance, as well as to feel gratitude.

So, who do you want to be in your family this holiday season? Here are four steps to consider as you anticipate your holiday gatherings:

* Try to have realistic expectations. Marsha Linehan, a professor of psychology at the University of Washington, encourages "making friends with reality." Have realistic expectations of what can change and what cannot. This might include learning to live with hurt or pain, and even allowing it to be the catalyst for a transformation of some kind. Approaching a family event this way will likely lead to less disappointment and some nice surprises.

* Use your emotional intelligence. Notice your feelings and manage them in healthy ways. Our emotions give us good information about ourselves, but it's best not to act on all of them. Notice other people's emotions, too. Can you understand why they might feel the way they do? Can you experience both detachment and empathy in your relationships?

* Be values-based. What are your most important values? How are you acting on them or honoring them in your interactions and behaviors? As we get older, we are called to greater depth, integrity and honesty. When you look within, what is really important? Is your demeanor aligned with your core values?

* Lighten up. Is there a chance you can walk away from this year's family gathering and say, "Wow! That was so much fun!"? Think about what would need to happen for you to have those feelings. What steps can you take to make this a possibility? Imagine the even greater possibilities if you share these thoughts with others. Embrace the goal of making this holiday season even just a bit more enjoyable than you had anticipated.

Look before you leap

This Mars Retrograde with companion Jupiter continues to make things more complex and difficult than they should be - or are. Jupiter magnifies everything. This is a time when we really need to have PERSPECTIVE on what's going on and the cards know.

Special message for Leos -- set your pride aside for now and do what you need to do, calmly and with the magnanimous spirit for which you are known. It isn't you -- it's them -- but you are the one to keep the situation from escalating. Manage your own sense of discouragement now about all those 'cubs' who should be listening to you and aren't. You're very busy, king of the jungle, and they aren't listening. Oh my!

This will change in a couple of weeks. Right now do what you do best - love the world in your heart, do some personal grooming, and sleep a lot!!

The Deadliest Sign of All - Aquarian Male

ATTENTION - if you are a woman dating an Aquarian male, I have an important message for you. And just to let you know I know what you're going through (especially with this Mars Retrograde)

from today's mailbag:

A Michigan woman and her family were vacationing in a small new England town where Paul Newman and his family often visited. One Sunday morning, the woman got up early to take a long walk. After a brisk five-mile hike, she decided to treat herself to a double-dip chocolate ice cream cone. She hopped in the car, drove to the center of the village and went straight to the combination bakery/ice cream parlor. There was only one other patron in the store. Paul Newman, sitting at the counter having a doughnut and coffee. The woman's heart skipped a beat as her eyes made contact with those famous baby-blue eyes. The actor nodded graciously and the star struck w oman smiled demurely.Pull yourself together! She chides herself. You're a happily married woman with three children, you're forty-five years old, not a teenager! The clerk filled her order and she took the double-dip chocolate ice cream cone in one hand and her change in the other. Then she went out the door, avoiding even a glance in Paul Newman's direction. When she reached her car, she realized that she had a handful of change but her other hand was empty. Where's my ice cream cone? Did I leave it in the store? Back into the shop she went, expecting to see the cone still in the clerk's hand or in a holder on the counter or something. No ice cream cone was in sight. With that, she happened to look over at Paul Newman. His face broke into his familiar warm friendly grin and he said to the woman,

'You put it in your purse.'

If you're facing those Aquarian eyes and feel like you're about to put your ice cream cone in your purse (AGAIN!!) - let me help you. Fast!! No kidding.

And this applies to everyone.

Hate to be the one to tell you (I know you know this already) but this "holiday season" combined with Mars Retrograde, and the Jupiter thing ... not a chance. It's an astral tumult, and it applies to everyone. Let me help you navigate the astral storm. Email for a reading.

Mars Retrograde and the Stock Market

Calm down, take a break, take is easy

Typically, when there are combinations of Mars, Jupiter and Uranus, we get panic and hysteria and then make impulsive actions that don't play well in the long run.

At least when we aren't aware of what's going on astrologically. Mars is about taking action, but in impulsive ways, and during a Retrograde, our timing can be way off. We suddenly decide to "get this settled once and for all," like end relationships, pop the question, get in or out of the market. When the irrational Uranus moves in around Mars, look out.

Mars Retrograde will continue until January 30, 2008.

Expect turbulence on all fronts - highs and lows. Jupiter will amp this all up. If you get irrational, you'll pop the question when you don't mean it, lose your temper and lose a good romance, or buy high and sell low. It's the crazy urge to DO SOMETHING. Act, and act now. This is not always advisable, and certainly not for a long-term investment philosophy - or anything else in your life!

Jupiter's presence tends to exaggerate everything and give a false sense of urgency.

So hang on for the ride on this one, taking careful consideration about what you do. There's a big urge to act, do something, worse of all -- do ANYTHING. In many cases, the best policy is to wait and see. What we're seeing now in the markets is likely to pass (as it has before, and will again). Avoid mass hysteria, and pay attention to what's going on in your for the long haul.

It's good policy to hold the center when there is panic and hysteria abounding.

And then we have the holidays.

Take it easy, and reassure yourself with a reading. It can stop the madness.

Identity Theft, Astrological Sign

As a public service, I would like to identify people who are at risk for having their identity stolen. I need to study the charts of people this has already happened to. It would be nice to have the date it happened and/or was first discovered. If you’ve had your identity stolen, and would like to help keep this from happening to others, or to learn how to work with this propensity in your chart, please participate in my study by emailing me at semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com .

From my house to yours,
a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving

THE CORN SONG,
from John Greenleaf Whittier

Heap high the farmer's wintry hoard!
Heap high the golden corn!
No richer gift has Autumn poured
From out her lavish horn!

Let other lands, exulting, glean
The apple from the pine,
The orange from its glossy green,
The cluster from the vine;

We better love the hardy gift
Our rugged vales bestow,
To cheer us when the storm shall drift
Our harvest-fields with snow.

Through vales of grass and meads of flowers
Our plows their furrows made,
While on the hills the sun and showers
Of changeful April played.

We dropped the seed o'er hill and plain,
Beneath the sun of May,
And frightened from our sprouting grain
The robber crows away.

All through the long, bright days of June
Its leaves grew green andfair,
And waved in hot midsummer's noon
Its soft and yellow hair.

And now, with Autumn's moonlit eves,
Its harvest-time has come;
We pluck away the frosted leaves,
And bear the treasure home.

Then shame on all the proud and vain
Whose folly laughs to scorn
The blessing of our hardy grain,
Our wealth of golden corn!

Let earth withhold her goodly root,
Let mildew blight the rye,
Give to the worm the orchard's fruit,
The wheat-field to the fly;

But let the good old crop adorn
The hills our fathers trod;
Still let us, for his golden corn,
Send up our thanks to God!

How to Please Your Scorpio Guy

How to please your Scorpio guy?
Oh, how they love the mystery and surprise.
They're also big on appearance, and presentation - like you, and also their food.
Here are some tips:

  • They are the elemental sensual sign - so figs! But you knew that. Fresh figs are best. Fig newtons will do.
  • Not big on sweets.
  • Fruit cake of all things. I've never known a Scorpio who didn't love a dense, packed fruit cake.
  • Dress like you're worthy of him, LOL. Choose deep mysterious royal colors like black, royal purple or dark red.
  • Anything with a hidden center - bacon wrapped chestnuts, deviled eggs, anything stuffed, also sensuous things like raw oysters, grapes and POMEGRANATE. Jelly filled doughnuts, that pound cake with the sour cream in the middle, that molten chocolate cake - and put a little hazelnut in the chocolate. It's best when the little surprise is "hidden" so fried surprises are great.
  • Go to a dark, mysterious place. Dark lighting! Or have your house very dark and mysteriously sensual and romantic. Try black sheets or royal purple silk sheets on the bed.
  • Slightly piquant cheeses like feta and cream cheese.
  • The CLASSIC cheese cake, please; skip all the fruity stuff (unless you can figure how to get it in the middle, LOL)

Mars Retrograde: Energy is Heating Up

Yes, Mars Retrograde is heating things up, for good or for ill. Tempers are more likely to flare, especially if you're a fire sign and you will find people over-reacting all over the place.

A GOOD use of the Mars Retrograde energy is to learn patience and emotional intelligence. When there is energy, there are always many ways to use it. If you are incensed about something, you can do what you can to right a wrong in an assertive fashion, OR you can take it out on someone else, or be aggressive to another person.

This is a time when emotions will be on our sleeves. If you're doing OK, you'll still have to deal with the people who aren't.

It's also a good time to learn there is a season for all things. We are all feeling a push to "solve this once and for all." Not only is there no such thing, but it's also not a wise thing to do. When you push, you get a push BACK.

Learn how to use this energy. Email me for a reading, semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com .

Combined with the holidays you may feel yourself going into some kind of black hole. Cancers and Scorpios will be more prone to do this, so if your partner is one of those signs, get a reading and check this out. So you can learn how to deal with it.

I'll be available all during the holidays. Please do not hesitate to call me or email me. I'm here to help.

Mars Retrograde lurches forward. Expect some intensity tomorrow, people who can't handle their anger energy. May be especially trying for Scorpio and Leo. Do your best to stay calm. This is the "time will tell" Marsa Retrograde.

Conflict and Mars Retrograde

As Mars Retrograde looms on the horizon, it's important to know that different signs have different automatic responses to conflict. These comes from past lives, childhood, or both. For instance, on the downside, a Leo faced with a conflict will dig her feet in and become self-righteous. On the downside, a Scorpio will automatically get out the stinger and lash out.

Learn more about YOUR sign and how you handle conflict in ways that don't help the cause so you can grow in this area and find things that work for you.

This article Workplace Coach: Response to conflict learned at early age gives a good introduction to handling anger and conflict.

TIPS TO HELP

  • Be aware of your emotional patterns.
  • Understand that we co-create what's working and not working with others.
  • Identify what you are feeling (feelings inform you about the importance and meaning of a situation) and then choose your behavior. Recent brain-scan research indicates that naming your feeling when upset (either to yourself or out loud) can get you out of "lizard" mode and back into prefrontal cortex thinking mode (where your odds of successful resolution are greatly enhanced).
  • Get help -- hire a coach or get training in conflict resolution and interpersonal practices.
  • Notice when you slip into your childhood emotional state, then choose to behave as a grownup.
Whatever your sign, there is always free will. That's where your freedom lies!
Coaching is automatically a part of getting a reading. Many of my clients have been getting readings from me for years. For a free mini-reading, email me at semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com .

Thanksgiving Dinner Etiquette

Thanksgiving Dinner Etiquette- Holiday Manners
How to be a great Thanksgiving Guest, and have a more enjoyable time! It's all about emotional intelligence.

From the article:

The days of dining by plucking fruit from trees and roasting small animals over the fire, eating with fingers, and perhaps fighting with others over the scraps are long gone. Or are they? More and more we swing our car through the drive-in, grab our food from the window, and proceed to eat with our fingers, so perhaps you need a brush-up on the basics of formal – shall we say “civilized” dining – before the great Thanksgiving feast.

Rules of civilized dining evolved because, according to Margaret Visser (“Rituals of Dinner”), “animals are slaughtered and consumed, the guest-host relationship is … a complicated interweaving of the imposition of obligation and the suspension of hostility, and the ordinary table knife is related to actual weapons of war.”

The holidays, and Mars Retrograde will be a good time to practice your emotional intelligence because you will get lots of opportunities. Alert: Especially challenging for fixed signs.

Warren Buffet and a Sign of the Times

Warren Buffet is a Virgo, born 1930 August 30 at 1200PM, Omaha, Nebraska.

He has four planets in earth. His Moon is in Sag. 5 or more planets in Cardinal signs.

With this chart, he is practical, down to earth and concerned with comfort and security in the material sense but also relationships. Very reality oriented. Inspiration and conceptual theorizing don't mean as much to him as concrete facts, reality, tangible results, practicaity, oand the application of theory. Pragmatic. "Does it work?" Can I see, feel, touch, the results. Dependable and reliable, not exiting and people who put on airs and live the fast life would find him dull (and he would find them ridiculous). With so many planets in Cardinal signs, he like to start things. Like Berkshire Hathaway. :-)

Going around the Internet:

Warren Buffet, the second richest man who has donated $31 billion to charity. Here are some very interesting aspects of his life:
>>
>> 1. He bought his first share of stock at age 11 and he
>> now regrets that he started too late!
>>
>> 2. He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from
>> delivering newspapers.
>>
>> 3. He still lives in the same small 3-bedroom house in
>> mid-town Omaha that he bought after he got married
>> 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs
>> in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence.
>>
>> 4. He drives his own car everywhere and does not have
>> a driver or security people around him.
>>
>> 5. He never travels by private jet, although he owns the
>> world's largest private jet company.
>>
>> 6. His company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns 63 companies.
>> He writes only one letter each year to the CEOs of these
>> companies, giving them goals for the year. He never
>> holds meetings or calls them on a regular basis. He
>> has given his CEO's only two rules:
>>
>> Rule number 1: Do not lose any of your shareholder's money.
>>
>> Rule number 2: Do not forget rule number 1.
>>
>> 7. He does not socialize with the high society crowd.
>> His pastime after he gets home is to make himself
>> some popcorn and watch television.
>>
>> 8. Warren Buffet does not carry a cell phone. He does not
>> have a computer on his desk.
>>
>> His advice to young people: "Stay away from
>> credit cards and invest in yourself and remember:
>>
>> A. Money doesn't create man but it is the man who
>> created money.
>>
>> B. Live your life as simple as you can.
>>
>> C. Don't do what others say, just listen to them, but do
>> what you feel is good.
>>
>> D. Don't go on brand names; just wear those things
>> in which you feel comfortable.
>>
>> E. Don't waste your money on unnecessary things.
>>
>> F. It's your life so why give others the chance
>> to rule your life."

The New Job Interview

From today' mailbag:

"Hi. I'm a Scorpio and I just had a terrible job interview. It last forever and I couldn't even figure out what they were getting at. What did any of it have to do with my computer skills. The interviewer mentioned his birthday for some reason and he was a Leo. What do think went wrong? I sure need a reading before the next one. I was lost and really p***** off by the end of it all." -- A Stung Scorpio

Bosses Try New Ways to Skip Misfit Hires: Financial News - Yahoo! Finance

Find out how to work the new job interview depending upon your astrological sign. Get a reading before you go and get ahead of the game:

From the article:

With the national unemployment rate low, at 4.7 percent, and the Baby Boom generation heading into retirement, employers from Microsoft Corp. to rural hospitals are worrying about finding enough workers. But companies like Rackspace Managed Hosting are bucking that trend, working hard to find reasons to turn people away.

Rackspace CEO Lanham Napier said, "We'd rather miss a good one than hire a bad one." The 1,900-person computer server hosting company is divided into 18- to 20-person teams. One team is so close, the whole group shows up to help when one member moves into a new home, Napier said. Job interviews at the San Antonio-based company last all day, as interviewers try to rub away fake pleasantness. "They're here for nine or 10 hours," Napier said. "We're very cordial about it. We're not aggressive, but we haven't met a human being yet who has the stamina to BS us all day."

There's a possible downside, however. In a Harvard Business Review article titled "Fool vs. Jerk: Whom Would You Hire?" Tiziana Casciaro of Harvard and Miguel Sousa Lobo of Duke University point out that people generally like people who are similar to them, so hiring for congeniality can limit diversity of opinions. One venture capitalist told the authors that a capable manager he worked with built a team that "had a great time going out for a beer, but the quality of their work was seriously
compromised."

An interview that lasts 10 hours can be stressful and maddening, and they're waiting for you to lose your cool. Find out how to work it with your sign and rising sign. During this Mars Retrograde, be sure you remain calm. Aries and Scorpio are having the worst time with this Retrograde, but being prepared is more than half the battle.

Language is a behavior potentially under our control, and a powerful loop. Its how we act upon the world, and how the world acts upon us. Its how we express our thoughts and feelings, and it also influences our thoughts and feelings. This includes what we say to ourselves as well as what others say to us. Barring physical force, language is how we get what we want.

How to Use Mars Retrograde

November and Mars Retrograde

Mars, the god of War, is on the scene for the coming month. In preparation, I read Clausewitz on War, and A History of Warfare, by John Keegan. I also brushed up on my emotional intelligence.

Why? Because war has been around a long time - anger, violence, arguments, conflict - but like any energy, the energy of Mars can also be used well. It's self-protective (we fight to protect ourselves or our loved ones, or our possessions), but if you let this energy get out of hand, or misinterpret or over-react to threats, you miss all the better ways to manifest your warrior spirit.

Mars turns retrograde on November 16. During this time period when Mars is closest to the earth (astronomically), we will get many lessons for our growth.

We will also have the holidays and the political scene, as well as our own relationships and work situations to explore this with. How you experience this transit will depend on how prepared you are. It promises to be a time of surprises, intense extremes. A reading can help you get perspective.

Expect turbulence similar to a Mercury Retrograde, so do your holiday preparations if you can now - travel plans, gift-buying and sending. Get it done before this Mars retrograde. I'll be available all through the holidays for consultations.

The Mars energy can make us more prone to temper tantrums, outbursts, violence, and even cruelty. But it can also bring fighting spirit for good things, bravery and even heroic acts .
Mars energy needs to be understood and modulated. Beware of:
  • Inflammations and self-injuries
  • Addictions rearing their ugly heads
  • All the negative emotions - anger, guilt, worry and fear, and extremes
  • Fights
  • Over-reactions - including rescuing and over-helping
  • Increased stress from hiding Mars energy we don't know how to deal with
  • Intense startups that exhaust us and then peter our (one-week exercise program, the 2-day "diet")
  • Fanaticism and proselytizing
  • Stress, stress, stress - chemicals that exhaust and stress you and related health problems, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually

Remember that unless you trap them, or inflame them, emotions come and go. (Comes from the same word as "move".)

Don't focus on the Mars downside, keep centered, focus on the good, and "just say no" to the emotional rollercoaster. Get a reading to help you focus better on the things that will ease this Retrograde and the good outcomes you want. In other words, focus on not what you want to avoid, but what you want to have happen.

A reading can increase your personal power.

Mars Retrograde in Cancer is a good time to learn more about your emotions. As Terry Lamb says, "Through Cancer we encounter the challenge to keep ourselves emotionally fit, to learn emotional intelligence. When Mars is in retrograde in Cancer, that lesson will come out in spades!"

TIPS FOR COPING:

  • Look at what's right (with you, them and the situation), and keep your face turned toward the Sun
  • Problem-solve immediately, don't resent, don't fester
  • MODERATION. Allow extra time for peace and relaxation - readings, meditate, exercise, get enough sleep, eat right.
  • Turn it off - turn off the TV if it upsets you. Get away from negative people. Monitor the "holidays" so you enjoy them.
  • Learn more about emotional intelligence. This is the perfect opportunity.

Sarkozy (Aquarius, Virgo rising) walks out of interview

Sarkozy walks out of interview. (See video here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_7060000/newsid_7067500/7067514.stm?bw=bb&mp=wm&asb=1&news=1 )

What can you expect from an Aquarius with Virgo rising, Moon in Aries.

Nicolas Sarkozy, born Nicolas Paul Stéphane Sarközy de Nagy-Bocsa, president of France, was born on 28 January 1955.

He is combative, dynamic and energetic almost to the point of being hyper - certainly quick-trigger.

He doesn't like, it gets up and walks out.

He's got a 10th house Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in trine with Saturn, afflicted by a Neptune squre, which suggests scandals ... in his personal life? Could he have been defensive about this? At any rate, he doesn't like personal questions, especially about something like marriage. Does his divorce pertain to his political life? Evidentally he will let you know. He's in control.

He's known to be sharp-tongued and tough-talking (calling rampaging minority youths rabble - racaille) . He likes to control the conversation, decisively. There's another configuration in his chart that he will like media/public control. Well, there's nothing like getting up and walking out to make a point. He's already been accused of bring "an authoritarian demagogue" ...

Wow. Things really opening up. Got two job interviews today. Just had first one and it went well. They called and said my insurance was going OK. My stock broker called with good news. Thanks for the clarity in the reading and the advice you gave me. You were right. I held my tongue when he called. I did listen and you were right. He wasn't saying what I thought he was saying. Thanks.

Full Moons have a bad reputation. It's true people can get crazy, but if you are prepared, my slant on it is that it usually brings clarity to your situation, which changes your perceptions and then things open up. A reading can prepare you for this. Especially I recommend these for the fire signs, and also Cancers.

California: Fire Raging Because of Too Much Air and Too Little Water

"[Witch Fire] is the worst fire this county has ever seen -- worse than the Cedar Fire [of 2003]," Sheriff Bill Kolende
AIR, FIRE, WATER and EARTH -- the elements we live with, and the elements of our signs and of those we relate to.

What a difference the degrees and mixtures make. We are seeing a grave example of this in California right now. The conditions which caused the current dangerous situation in California are fire, too much air (strong winds) and too little water (low humidity). If deprived of air, drenched with water, or suffocated with earth, the fires would go out.

What happens in relationships? Let's look at the fire sign, Leo.

If your partnership is Aquarius (air) and Leo (fire), if the Aquarius goes to the dark side - unemotional and detached - it will whip the Leo into a frenzy of passionate anger and likely the Aquarius will leave.

If the partnership is Scorpio (water) and Leo (fire), and the Scorpio goes to the dark side (cold, critical and unforgiving) it will extinguish the fire of the Leo's passion, and likely the Leo will leave. The same would occur if the partnership is Taurus (earth) with Leo (fire), and the Taurus goes to the dark side (lazy, self-indulgent, greedy), it will put the Leo's fire out. This one is more likely to be just a gradual falling apart.

Our prayers for those living in California, and those of us with loved ones and relatives there.

Here is a site where you can get current information for the San Diego area: San Diego Fire Resources (Witch Fire & others, Oct 2007) « Jim 2.0’s Blog

The National Fire Information Center reports:

The fire situation in southern California remains critical where 12 uncontained large fires have burned more than 335,000 acres. Hundreds of homes and commercial buildings throughout the area have been damaged or destroyed. The Santa Ana winds continue to be a challenge as firefighters work to contain these blazes.

Full Moon - Will it Make Your Crazy?

Call of the Sea, in Sausalito is having a Full Moon Sail the night of October 26th. Some people plan cruises for full moons. There's just something about a Full Moon. Some people get romantic. Other people get crazy!!

Astrologically Full Moons are important times. They can be a time of clarity - like "by the light of the moon" or claire de lune implicates. But then, of course too, our word "lunacy" also comes from the moon (luna).

A reading can help!

The Full Moon will always 'pull' our emotions, like it does the tides.

According to The Guardian:

"There are some stories that hook right into our primeval suspicions, that are unsurprising because they reinforce things we have believed, in however woolly a way, all along. A recent discovery by the Sussex police force, that incidents of anti-social behaviour rise significantly whenever there is a full moon, is one of them. Inspector Andy Parr, who has the unenviable responsibility of policing Brighton at weekends, set the number of violent crimes his force had recorded in the past year against the dates on which they had been committed and found that they peaked on payday - and when the moon was full. They now plan to beef up their patrols at full moon. "

Anyone who works in an ER will tell you the same thing.

Stay safe this Full Moon. Learn more about it with a free mini-reading. Email me and mention this offer.

BTW, according to ancient Celtic lore, from which we get Halloween ... the best night in the year for a reading is Halloween Night. My schedule will fill up fast, so schedule yours now - semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com .

Chart of Dr. James Watson, Aries (and more)

Dr. James Watson was born April 6, 1928 in Chicago (IL) (USA)
Aries 16°15 AS Capricorn 14°13.

Let's take a brief look at his chart. You won't find much surprise - if you're suspecting Aries, some Leo, some Libra and, oh yes, Sag. Zing@

You will not be surprised to know that Dr, James Watson, previous Nobel prize winner, is an Aries. Who else would … say something like that, while also contributing so much. He has the strong personality which will not back off, the entrepreneurial spirit, ambition and stubbornness of the Aries. Ramming his head! And along with this, the impulsiveness and desire to provoke.

If you read his bio, anywhere, and also on wikipedia.com you will see the word controversy occuring quite a bit.

What contributes to this? Well, -114 Square Sun – Pluto, he likes to fight, and there will be fights. He can also be presumptuous. Not so much about his intellect, as what is there to be presume? but about what others want to know, can know, and are willing to know. His greatest presumption is that people are curious and able to be objective about scientific findings, like he is. NOT.

The 149 Trine Moon – Mars also makes him frank, and with the impulsiveness, he does not always take the time to explain things at length, especially when they are 'obvious' to him. In other words, he does not take the time to think through how what he says MIGHT be construed, and how he wants to say what he says.

There are numerous placements in his chart that predict his intellect and abilities, especially in the higher reaches of science, and the ability to have a strong influence on others.

With 762 Conjunction Sun – Jupiter, his professional success was predictable, and he is tolerant, optimistic and kindly, attributes which would further his career if used well. This may also temper the Triune Sun – Saturn, which means he likes to work quietly and alone. He pays attention to detail, is serious and methodical about his work, patient with the most arduous tasks, and will take on the impossible intellectual task, dotting every 'i' and crossing every 't.' He would be in the lab long after others fatigued, frustrated-out and left.

Moon in Libra indicates that he is sociable, popular, intelligent, reasonable, and of sound judgment. Notice that a phrase he often uses is "powers of reason."

When he takes the time to think about what he is going to say, he replies, at any rate he is quoted in The Independent as clarifying his comments as follows:

"The overwhelming desire of society today is to assume that equal powers of reason are a universal heritage of humanity. It may well be. But simply wanting this to be the case is not enough. This is not science. To question this is not to give in to racism. This is not a discussion about superiority or inferiority, it is about seeking to understand differences, about why some of us are great musicians and others great engineers."

Uranus in Aries -- independent, thinks on his own, inventive, and progressive.

If you read his book, “Avoid Boring People,” you will read some of the difficulties of his childhood, presaged by Ascendant in Capricorn – his success was destined to come with maturity and old age, preceded by a slow rise and a life of study.

James Watson, Nobel Prize (and Saturn Return)

James Watson, former Nobel Prize winner, currently under heavy fire for his allegedly "racist" comments, is 79 years old. He was born in 1928. He has therefore completed two Saturn Returns.

"Known for loving controversy," wrote one account ...

James Watson is promoting his book, "Avoid Boring People." On his path, he eschews "the boring," and certainly has walked right into his beloved controversy on this one.

At his first Saturn Return (1958), Watson was working with Crick, and Wilkins and the three were later awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine (in 1962) for their research on the structure of nucleic acids. There was controversy regarding this - you can read about it just about anywhere, including on wikipedia.com.

In 1968, Watson wrote The Double Helix, one of the Modern Library's 100 best non-fiction books. He almost named it "Honest Jim" (see the theme here?) and it is described as "the sometimes painful story of not only the discovery of the structure of DNA, but the personalities, conflicts and controversy surrounding their work."

According to wik, Harvard University Press was to publish the book, and then declined and it was published by a commercial publisher, "an incident which caused some scandal."

At his second Saturn Return, in 1988, Watson was appointed Head of the Human Genome Project at the National Institutes of Health and this too involved controversy. According to wik,

He left "after conflicts with the new NIH Director. "Watson was opposed to Healy's attempts to acquire patents on gene sequences, and any ownership of the 'laws of nature.'"

Two years before stepping down from the Genome Project, he had stated his opinion on this long and ongoing controversy which he saw as an illogical barrier to research; he said, "The nations of the world must see that the human genome belongs to the world's people, as opposed to its nations." He left within weeks of the 1992 announcement that the NIH would be applying for patents on brain-specific cDNAs."

This is a man who has had great scientific achievements and contributions, both earned and awarded, amidst controversy.

We will take a look at his chart shortly to see what drives this man, and what the third Saturn Return might bring.

Email semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com for a free mini-reading. It's Mercury Retrograde. I'm here to help. Saturn Returns are at approximately 29.5 years of age, 59.5, and For a SATURN READING, click HERE.

Stuck? There's One Question You Should Stop Asking

People who get readings are smart, and way ahead of the game. I think they're smarter than most. I know the people I read for are!

There are different reasons people ask for readings. They may want to know HOW to get their guy back, WHICH man would be the better choice, WHEN is the best time to but that stock, IS their guy coming back, WHO they are going to marry ...
but
rarely do I get a WHY question.

Stuck In Life? Stop Asking This Question
by Bonnie McFarland

"Why?" seems like a good question, doesn't it? I certainly used to think so.

I've asked "Why?" often in my life so I must have thought it was a good question. Or maybe I never had thought about it or noticed what happened when I asked that particular question. Over time, I've gone from the questions of a toddler (Why isthe sky blue?) to the questions of a child (Why did my dog die?) to the questions of an adult ("Why did that man break up with me?). "Why?" used to be one of my favorite questions. Not any more.

A few years ago someone offered me a very different perspective on "Why?" I started paying attention to what happened when Iasked myself or others this simple question. I noticed that"Why?" was very seldom a useful question. In fact, I discovered it was often a question that worked against me. Now I do my best to not ask myself or others "Why?"

Why Not Ask Why? In your internal conversations, are you asking yourself "Why?" on a regular basis? Why do I want that? Why am I feeling depressed? Why can't I be satisfied with the job I have? Why can't I figure out what I want in life? Why did I say that? Though you may not realize it, (I certainly didn't!) there's ajudgment implied in the question. "Why?" is really more like"What's the matter with me?" or "Why can't I be different than I am?"

When you ask yourself "Why?" you experience (subtly or not so subtly) one or more of the following:

* You're in your head: analyzing, trying to figure out the answer. Even if you don't know (and much of the time we truly don't know the "real reason" we're thinking, saying, doing, or wanting something) you'll do your best to come up with ananswer. Even if you have to make it up!

* You hear the implied judgment and so you start down that road. You criticize or blame yourself. You rationalize. Youjustify. You feel defensive, bad, wrong, or wronged.

* Your energy is drained. Rarely, rarely, rarely do you get an answer to "Why?" that helps you move forward. More likely, asking "Why?" will get you stuck and off track. It takes your focus away from where you're going and how to get there, leaving you circling around in your mind. Asking "Why?" stops you. It gets in the way of creating more of what you truly want.

Author: Bonnie Farland works with women at midlife who are bored, stuck, or restless and wondering what to do withthe rest of their lives. Visit http://www.labellavia.com/ for herfree e-book and ezine if you want to create more pleasure, passion, and purpose in your life.

Of course getting a ready can get you unstuck REALLY fast. The WHY is generally in the cards ... but so are other more important answers. For instance WHY that guy won't come back can be karma, Venus Retrograde, something a gris gris kit can address, or because he's a Leo with a Scorpio rising and you're a Gemini with a moon in Libra.

WHY are you so attracted to this one guy, so madly in love? It's in the cards. Come find out.

WHAT you can do about these things is the far more important questions ... or WHEN to do something, or HOW to get him to evolve out of that Leo-Scorpio thing.

Don't waste YOUR time asking "why". Ask a psychic/astrologer! Also learn how to phrase questions that really work for you. Wouldn't you rather know WHEN he will come back, and HOW, then WHY he is temporarily gone???

Here's an example of a good way to ask a question for a reading. Astrology can't tell you which man would be the most compatible for you (there are always "goods" and "bads") but can tell you what will happen IF with this man or that man.

Hurwicz, Nobel Price, Third Saturn Return

A Third Saturn Return, A Rarity and a Beautiful One

At the age of 90, Leonid “Leo” Hurwicz has received the Nobel Prize for Economics, the oldest person to receive this honor. It occurs at his third Saturn Return, and rarely do we get to look at this phenomenon.

Saturn Returns occurs for each of us at roughly 29.5 years of age, 59.5, and 89.5. Often times of confusion and frustration, they are also opportunities to adjust one’s path in life. The more you are on your path, the easier and more productive the Saturn Returns will be. (Good to get a reading as one of them approaches!) If approached well, you learn ways to use your gifts for greater success and happiness. We are often forced to make “adult” decisions at this time, as well as having to deal with errors we have made in our path previously. Many consider it a difficult time. Actually, as we age we have an easier time with Saturn transits, and a harder time with Uranus’ transits (since it rules youth).

But back to the third Saturn Return of this inspirational man.

Leo Hurwicz was born in 1917 and received his LL.M. (master of laws degree) from Warsaw University, Poland in 1938. Was this to be his destiny in life? No, in 1939 he was studying at the London School of Economics, and by the time of his first Saturn Return he was already working in his chosen field of economics, with several publications in the pipeline (first came out in 1944).
Hurwicz’ life was not an easy one. His Jewish family was displaced to Moscow a few months before the October Revolution, and then returned to Warsaw. According to wikipedia, “After the start of the Second World War, he was forced to move to Portugal, and finally to the United States. When Hitler invaded Poland, Hurwicz became a refugee and continued his studies at Harvard and the University of Chicago. His parents and brother fled Warsaw only to be arrested and sent to Soviet labor camps.”

At the time of his second Saturn Return, 1977, Hurwicz was teaching at the University of Minnesota, where he taught for more than half a century (since 1951), and was named Distinguished Fellow of the American Economic Association.

Hurwicz continued his work, and also his dedication to teaching and helping others. In the 50s, he worked with Kenneth Arrow, who became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Economics prize (in 1972). Later, he was the graduate advisor to Daniel McFadden, who received the Economics prize in 2000.

Hurwicz remained steadfast on his path of studying Economics, teaching it, and fostering the growth of others. According to Minnesota Public Radio, he is “known as a gentle and supportive soul with a demanding intellect.” One of his colleagues, V. V. Chari described him as “humble.” “He treated everybody as his intellectual equal, even though the vast majority of us were not.” Chari said Hurwicz’ experiences and his ability to connect with ordinary people shaped his high-performing intellect.”

U of M President Robert Bruininks said Hurwicz characteristically downplayed his own accomplishments. He also described him as a “very humble person” who was deeply interested in teaching and his students. He described him as “a wonderful, gracious colleague. But through his work, he has had a profound impact on the study of economics around the world."
And so, at his third Saturn return, Hurwicz received the Nobel prize.

By the time of the third Saturn Return, the person has had three full passages of Saturn through their birth chart, and has therefore had three full opportunities to grow, to learn, to produce, and to mentor others … and to correct anything needing correcting. A smooth flow here, and typically, when learning of the award, Hurwicz brought it all together. “I really didn’t expect it,” he said. “There were times when other people said I was on the short list but as time passed and nothing happened I didn’t expect the recognition would come because people who were familiar with my work were slowly dying off.”

He added, “I realize there’s a limit to how many names they can put on a prize, but I just wanted to stress it’s not just my own accomplishment but the help, collaboration from these many other people.”

To bring it all around – the man, his career, his relationships, his life and his 3 Saturn Returns -- Hurwicz said in a telephone interview with the Nobel folks,

"I hope that others who deserve it also got it, and that of all applications of mechanism design he was most pleased to see it inform welfare economics.” (wikipedia.com)

Doris Lessing, Nobel Prize Winner

Doris Lessing is approaching her third Saturn Return. She is 88 and, as you know, just received the Nobel Prize for literature. According to wikipedia, Lessing is "only the eleventh woman to win the prize in its 106-year history, and also the oldest person ever to win the literature award."

At her first Saturn Return, she divorced for the second time (in rapid succession), never to marry again. She began writing in earnest.

Her second Saturn Return didn't bring much change, as happens when you are on your path to begin with, but she did move ahead into what she considered her most important work. She was writing in the Sufi theme, exploring science fiction, and doing the Canopus series, which she considered her most important work.

Be prepared for your Saturn Returns - at around ages 29.5, 59.5, and 89.5. For a free mini-Saturn return reading from Nancy Fenn, the nation's Saturn Return Expert, go here . Please mention you heard this offer from Semiramis.

Mercury Retrograde, New Moon and YOU

Mercury Retrograde
October 11 - November 1
and a New Moon in Libra

First of all, Mercury Retrograde (MR) right before the holidays?? Ouch!! Just want to remind you that I'll be available all during the holidays, even on Thanksgiving Day, Kwanzaa, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, (and the holiday you choose to celebrate)etc. I'll be here for you during this time that's difficult for so many. I'll be available for readings ALL through the holidays, even on the days themselves. I'm here to help.

So what about a New Moon AND a Mercury Retrograde. Noted astrologer and Saturn Return expert** Nancy Fenn advises: "This is the perfect combination of energy to revise your strategies. Strategy is different from ways and means. It’s the game plan and that’s all important."

Now, re: this MR right before the holidays, just a few quick and general tips. Call me or email me semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com for things specifically for YOU.

  • Show restraint on spending. Important. That $1000 suite isn't going to make you look all that hot, and that huge diamond isn't going to pay the mortgage. Whether for yourself, or loved ones or others, keep a lid on the money can.
  • It's the presence that counts as the present!
  • Always advisable to use caution during Mercury retrogrades and review what you want to purchase before you actually put down your credit card or cash.
  • Take a minute before you sign on the dotted line. Call me or email me if in doubt. This applies to work contracts, new furniture, leases on electronic equipments, apartment contracts, etc., till mid-November.
  • This applies to you, but also to the people you are deaing with.
  • Also not a good time to schedule elective surgery.

Put these things off until MR is over.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20) - good time to start a fitness program. It's good strategy. New moon and trio of planets will bless the effort.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20) - Be creative about things of the heart. Many planets are gathering to make you especially alluring.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22) - Mars is in your sign til May of next year. This will give incredible drive and energy to you.

For free mini-reading, semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com and mention this offer.

**Nancy Fenn is the nation's Saturn Return Expert and was just chosen Saturn Return Expert for SelfGrowth, the largest self help portal on the Internet, rated #1 by yahoo and google both. For a free Saturn Return mini-reading, go here: www.bemyastrologer.com/form.html . David Hasselhoff (Cancer) in Trouble Again

David Hasselhoff is in trouble again, in a way that many Cancers get in trouble. He was admitted to a hospital yesterday for detox. He is a Cancer, born July 17, 1952 and this is a problem to many Cancers.

There are elements in David Hasselhoff's chart that would indicate these problem areas.

David Hasselhoff has a predominance of WATER signs, meaning that he is extremely sensitive, drive by heart and emotions. According to astrotheme, he "can't do anything on this Earth if [he doesn't] feel an affective charge (as a matter of fact the word 'feeling' is essential to [his] psychology. Action and comprehension cannot be achieved if [he doesn't] feel anything ..."

Therefore numbing his FEELINGS with alcohol is highly detrimental.

FIRE is dominant in his chart giving the propensity for rashness and impulsive behavior, while
EARTH qualities are extremely low (about 5% instead of 25%). This puts him in the heart and mind, instead of material, earthly and concrete values. A person with these elements can easily end up in trouble due to lack of good sense and carefulness.

What's the key? We are never 'bound' by our charts because we have free will. Our charts can indicate strengths and weakness, and there is always the possiblity of evolving and of transformation.

As David (now 55) lurches toward his second Saturn Return, we can only hope he learns to manage his sensitive and enthusiastic nature in ways that are not harmful to him. As Nancy Fenn, the nation's Saturn Return expert puts it: "Your second Saturn Return (between the ages of 58-60) is when, secretly and truly, for good or ill, every single one of your chicken’s for the last thirty years come home to roost.”

You can request a mini-reading from Fenn here: www.bemyastrologer.com/form.html . Please indicate you found this offer on Semiramis' blog.

Our thoughts and prayers are with David Hasselhoff as he struggles with his addiction.

To Find Meaning in Your Life - Spiritual Life Purpose

Why Would You Want a Spiritual Life Purpose Report?
By Semiramis, Psychic and Astrologer

Semiramis has been chosen SelfGrowth's Life Purpose Expert. This is the largest self growth portal on the Internet, rated #1 by google and yahoo. http://www.selfgrowth.com/ . See Semiramis' site here: http://www.selfgrowth.com/experts/semiramis_appiamo.html

Did you know that an experienced astrologer who is familiar with the spiritual life purpose can take a look at your chart and find out what is probably the most important thing you will ever need to know – WHY YOU ARE HERE.

The Spiritual Life Purpose path is based on your time, date and place of birth (after all you chose to enter at that time and place), and is completely individualized. I have never seen two that were alike. We are truly unique individuals here on earth, and our paths are just as individual and unique. After all, we toss around from job-to-job, or even career field-to-career field, and sometimes from partner-to-partner, looking for answers and peace of mind. For that feeling of meaning, purpose and fulfillment. We ask other people, some experts, and try sometimes to take advice that is meant for another person, not you.

The answer is actually within you, but it may be hidden. You know how they say “If you’re not happy now, what you think would make you happy, will not.”

Well in the case of spiritual life path, it will bring you the sort of peace of mind you get only when you know why you are, what your purpose is, what you are meant to be “doing” and “being.” Some people would say why you reincarnated, but if you aren’t comfortable with that terminology, take it metaphorically. It works the same way.

We look at different nodes in your chart, and can see what this life purpose is for you individually. What works for someone else isn’t going to work for you, and with a life purpose report, you can save yourself some trial-and-error, which is time-consuming, frustrating and discouraging.

One person I did a report for recently, was a hard-driven career woman, but she wasn’t enjoying the journey very much and had sort of come to the end of the rope. She had not been able to find anything satisfying to her. This was manifest in digestive problems, headaches and other physical ‘messages’ from her body that what she was doing was wrong for her. Her Spiritual Life Purpose Report revealed the answers that had been hidden from her as she strove for money and prestige in the work world. When I presented her Report to her, she said, “Well this makes sense. Actually it's a relief."

Why hadn’t she discovered this on her own? With luck she might have found it eventually, but with a lot of wasted time, health, and discouragement.

This Spiritual Life Purpose Report works very well at mid-life. Why? Because you will have eliminated a lot of things that didn’t make you happy. It is easier for someone who knows what doesn’t work to be able to hear. You will be ready to hear something that will work.

Many people want this reading as they approach their second Saturn Return (around 59.5 years of age). As Saturn Report expert Nancy Fenn says, “"Your second Saturn Return is when, secretly and truly, for good or ill, every single one of your chicken’s for the last thirty years come home to roost.”

To order your Spiritual Life Purpose Report, click HERE. Just $250. Completely individualized, not computer-generated.

The Origins of Tarot

Marriage Fights Take a Toll on Your Health in Surprising Ways

Marital Spats, Taken to Heart - New York Times

MORE RESEARCH THAT EMOTIONS CAN EFFECT YOUR HEALTH, and how it does

The way you fight with your spouse can affect your health (and theirs)

From the article:

--32 percent of the men and 23 percent of the women said they typically bottled up their feelings during a marital spat. In men, keeping quiet during a fight didn’t have any measurable effect on health. But women who didn’t speak their minds in those fights were four times as likely to die during the 10-year study period as women who always told their husbands how they felt (from Psychosomatic Medicine). Whether the woman reported being in a happy marriage or an unhappy marriage didn’t change her risk.

--When women stay quiet, it takes a surprising physical toll.

--Other studies led by Dana Crowley Jack, a professor of interdisciplinary studies at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wash., have linked the self-silencing trait to numerous psychological and physical health risks, including depression, eating disorders and heart disease.

--The emotional tone that men and women take during arguments with a spouse can also take a toll on their health. The researchers found that the style of argument was a powerful predictor for a man or woman’s risk for underlying heart disease. In fact, the way the couple interacted was as important a heart risk factor as whether they smoked or had high cholesterol, says Timothy W. Smith, a psychology professor at the University of Utah.

--For women, whether a husband’s arguing style was warm or hostile had the biggest effect on her heart health. A warm style of arguing by either spouse lowered the wife’s risk of heart disease.

--But arguing style affected men and women differently. The level of warmth or hostility had no effect on a man’s heart health. For a man, heart risk increased if disagreements with his wife involved a battle for control. And it didn’t matter whether he or his wife was the one making the controlling comments. **

--Answers re: their assessed quality of the relationship were not a good predictor of cardiovascular risk. The difference in risk showed up only when the quality of the couple’s bickering style was assessed.

**Example: Man arguing with his wife says: “You really should just listen to me on this."

D Day - the moon and the tides

The moon and tides figured in the timing of D Day, otherwise known as operation Overlord.

From "No Ordinary Time", about Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt, and World War II:

[General Dwight D.] Eisenhower determined that only four days in June provided the combination of conditions necessary for the assault -- a late-rising moon for the paratroopers, and, shortly after dawn, a low tide. The invasion was set for Monday, June 5, a month later than originally planned.

The Power Card

Dear Semiramis,
Thanks for you help with this. It is stressingme. I will probably get another reading next week. But can you tell me what it means when you said in my reading I got a "strong" card for me?
Thanks again,
Sheryl

Dear Sheryl,
Well there are "strong" cards and there are "weak" cards. The one Spirit indicated for you is one that shows a woman with a lot of personal power, can-do attitude, used to making things happen, using good judgment, having options, in other words not the "victim" position (yes, there is one that indicates "victim mentality") , and generally a favorable outcome.

Gemini with Flirting Boyfriend

GEMINI WOMAN DEALS WITH FLIRTING SAG

Dear Semiramis,
Can you help? I'm dating this guy and it drives me nuts because he gawks at other women and flirts with them when we are out. I think he's faithful to me, and it's a good relationship, but I'm still bothered by it. He tells me not to worry about it. However, he complained about my weight and I lost weight, so I think he could do this for me. What should I do?

Dear Gem,

When I looked at your charts, it explained a lot. First of all with your Saturn square his sun and moon, you THINK you should be able to ignore this, that it shouldn't bother you, but it really hits you where you live. In your FEELINGS. It's like "I understand this intellectually, but I can't put up with it emotionally." And you'd think he's return the favor to you, wouldn't you? Why does he do it? His Venus is in Cancer, so he just craves the attention of women, lots of women, all women. Yuch. he's also got Sagittarius rising, so he does NOT like to be told what to do. So if you tell him not to do it, it makes it all the more exciting for him. You beg "stop!" and he begs "don't nag, don't boss me around." Dilemma.

So that explains a lot. Now, what to do about it? Hmmm.

Conjunction of Venus and Saturn October 15

Celestial Events coming up - what you should know about.

From Seasky astronomy calendar

October 11 - New Moon

October 15 - Conjunction of Venus and Saturn. The planets Venus and Saturn will appear only 3 degrees apart in the early morning sky. Beginning of Orionids.

October 21, 22 - Orionids Meteor Shower. The Orionids produce about 20 meteors per hour at their peak. The shower will peak this year on the 21st, but some meteors can be seen from October 15 - 29. The evening gibbous moon may interfere with viewing faint meteors, but the brightest ones should still be visible from a dark location. Best viewing will be to the east after midnight.

October 26 - Full Moon

Good Timing for Your Holiday Travel

Let me help you planning your holiday travel.

FLYING FOR THE HOLIDAYS? BRACE YOURSELF is the article in the New York Times.

We have the following to work around as well:
November 24 - Full Moon
December 24 - Mars at Opposition. Mars makes its closest approach to Earth and its face will be fully illuminated by the Sun.
December 24 - Full Moon

Yes, it's going to be tight. They're talking about expecting absolutely full flights, and other messes. No chance to rebook if you get bumped. The usual weather problems in the upper part of the country. "Take water and food aboard with you, any medicine you might need in a delay, and a book or other diversion."

Email for a reading and let me help you with the timing. semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com .

From the article:

If you can stand to fly on Thanksgiving or Christmas, you may find more seats available and at lower prices. Days to avoid, because of crowds and high fares, include the day before Thanksgiving, and the Sunday after. The weekends bracketing Christmas — it falls on a Tuesday this year — will also be tough.
You can check http://www.flightstats.com/ and http://www.flightaware.com/ to help you gauge potential delays.

Be forewarned: Some markets, Detroit, Washington, Houston and Boston — have fewer seats available this year at Thanksgiving because airlines have reduced capacity in spots. Others — notably Orlando, San Francisco, Denver, Seattle and Las Vegas — have more seats available, according to FareCompare.

Are Control Issues Bringing down your Relationship?

CONTROL ISSUES ARE IN THE AIR

Whether you're a Pisce or an Aries, and whether your partner's a Capricorn or an Aquarius, if you get locked into one of those control battles, it's a losing proposition.

Right now there's a conjunction making it particularly easy to get into silly arguments -- only they won't seem so silly once you get into them.

Sometimes we try to control with anger and judgments. Sometimes with arguments and then withdrawal.

Here's an example. Lets say he wants you to help with the taking care of the car and you say you will. Then you don't, because you feel like he's trying to "control" you. Then he gets angry, and you get angry back, saying that's he trying to control you.

Why not just take the car in like you agreed to?

If you're locked in to one of these battles with your loved one, let me help you out with a reading, and taking a look at their chart. There are ways to defuse these situations according to what sign the person is.

Give it a try. Email for a reading - semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com .
Email reading, $40, by phone $75. PayPal or personal check.

Isn't it time to get past those old control issue battles?

A Spiritual Life Path Chart is a wonderful gift for you for the holidays. Have you ever wondered why you're here, what your purpose in life is, and what you were meant to do? These are deep questions, and the answers are soothing to your Spirit.

Mars and Pluto - en garde

Take care on Friday when Mars moves into opposition with Pluto, and Pluto moves from Sagittarius (been there since 1995) into Capricorn.

Mars-Pluto pits the war god against the dark Lord so be prepared for petty disputes, bit power struggles, nasty conflicts surfacing or re-surfacing.

And you thought I was talking about between you and others? Yes, could be ... or between you and you. What you want and what's thwarting you.

Yes, it's especially tempting to externalize these and project them onto others in lots of cases of 'mistaken identities', i.e., He feels like cheating so he accuses you of cheating. Your father had a bad temper, so you provoke your husband to have one.

Definitely a time for tire-slashing, ranting and raving, accusing others, starting nasty rumors, getting defensive ... and losing it.

In fact, take care on the 21st. If you're the kind of takes it out on yourself (having a fender-bender, losting your keys, 'forgetting' a deadline), take care. And watch out for those who take their nasties out on others, i.e., car accidents, turning you in to your boss, going after your guy, even acts of violence.

Leo - here's a note for you, your majesty. If someone else is the boss, take it easy. Acknowledge it, and then get busy. This is no time for a power play.
