It's not what happened to you it's how you're interpreting it

WHAT'S THAT COMING AT YOU??
As we stagger out from under this Full Moon, and the Pluto transit, take a look and listen. Pluto removes what was dying and needed to go.

Tony Robbins - paraphrase - human beings can take a meaning from any event that either disempowers them, or literally saves their life! (Let me guide you if you just got one.)

Reading Photos

I LOVE READING PHOTOS. One my clients sent me this photo (and gave me permission to use it).

She is standing at a crossroads right now, as many of us are, with this Pluto transit. There's something she's always wanted that she's waiting for.

The changes we all look for will take some time to manifest, as Pluto moves slowly and deliberately, but inexorably. Pay attention to the subtlest signals. As YOU change, so changes your WORLD.

Now for the photo. Here she is literally surrounded by Spirit and Light, even in the midst of darkness. Behind her, finally, are all the thorns, pricks and dangers. She glows with the changes that have taken place inside her. Her head has changed, but not her heart. (We sometimes have to change our beliefs, in order to change, and become the kind of person who has what we've always wanted.)

In front of her lie two alternatives, two choices. One is the lighted treasure, her heart desires (to the left as you look at the photo). It literally glows. To the right is a dark, dead stump of wood. Which one will she choose?

Her leg is crossed pointing toward her heart's desire.

Bravo!

Celebs get roughed up and so do you?

Lindsay Lohan doused with flour? Rough week for celebs, says yahoo. Well it's probably been a rough week for YOU too. EXHAUSTION seems to be the rule ... you're either sick or you've hurt yourself, with this energy. We need a break. And maybe you're thinking a little flour on your coat would be mild compared to what's been thrown at you?

PLUTO and URANUS/SATURN continue to wreak havoc in our lives. OH THE DRAMA.

But Pluto deals with magic ... real magic ... like a cardinal in the midst of winter ... the intricate beauty of a snowflake ... like a tiny seed that grows into a mighty oak tree ... like transforming you into the person you always wanted to be ... like looking into the eyes of your true love ... like getting what you always wanted finally ...

Yes, you're probably getting slammed around right now. It's part of it. Saturn wants to control, but Uranus pulls out into left field.

You clamp down and there's revolt. You loosen up and someone else plays the heavy.
You thought you'd made up your mind (Saturn) but no one and nothing is cooperating with you (Uranus).

You decided to move and they beg you to stay. You say and they 'agree' you're better off going. Huh????

Let's just say the cat's out of the bag and you aren't going to be stuffing it back in.

How to handle all this drama? Be in a 'preference' state, not a 'demand' state. You don't want to rouse someone else to play the role of Saturn or Uranus or to play those roles in someone else's drama. Watch out for turning it inward and getting sick - or outward, and getting hurt. Move slowly and with care.

Hammered? Getting batted about like a birdie?
Call me and lets talk about it. What you want and how to get there.
AND ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THAT SIGNIFICANT OTHER!!!!

Key for the week - tone it down. Others will over-interpret, over-react.

Let's talk about the uses of anger ...

The Creation of Acadia National Park, a Plutonian Tale

Bar Harbor Maine
Acadia National Forest - a Plutonian Tale

The story of Acadia National Forest is a Plutonian Tale. Pluto, the god of the underworld. The only god to whom there was no altar, no recourse, no prayer, no mercy. It is all-out war between the Old and the New. It is going on now (the election, the world economic crisis), as Pluto stomps through your life (or the world's, or a forest's), trampling what is dead and dying making room for new growth - more beautiful, more varied, more enriched, and most of all -- changed.

This is also the theme for the coming year, 2009. Whether you orchestrate your own change, gracefully emerging from your chrysalis a beautiful winged butterfly, or must be dragged out unwillingly, kicking and scream is up to you. Readings, of course, will help, as this isn't easy. EMAIL ME to schedule readings.

And now for Acadia National Forest. . .

"Rustification" it was called, when the very wealthy came to Bar Harbor Maine and Maine's Mount Desert Island, a little under 200 air miles Boston, to spend their summers. One of these was the philanthropist John D. Rockefeller, Jr., who contributed along with many other people (including the tens of thousands of volunteers who care for it today), to developing and preserving Acadia National Park.

At 47,000 acres, Acadia National Park it's one of our smallest, yet one of the most visited. From these photos, you will see why.

MAP OF ACADIA NATIONAL FOREST
From our cruise to Bar Harbor (and beyond)

Map of Acadia, Map created by en:User:Aude

At first, the forest looked like this (evergreens), though it included the granite ledges of the Schoodic Peninsula across Frenchman Bay, and a number of smaller offshore islands, notably Isle au Haut in the Gulf of Maine. But Mount Desert is where most of it is. It contained more than 20 lakes and ponds, and an extensive network of gravel carriage trails, 17 granite bridges, and two gate lodges, thanks to the Rockefellers, most of which is there today.

Here is what it looked like back then:

Or perhaps even a tree of color here and there, like this:

THE GREAT MAINE FIRE OF 1947

Then, on October 17, 1847 a fire broke out, during a dry year, that destroyed much of Maine's forests, including 10,000 acres of Acadia National Park. Now here's the miracle. As is nature's way, the regrowth, allowed to occur naturally, included a host of maples and other colored trees, changing the appearance entirely, and for the better, most of us would say.

If you have gone through a Plutonian change, a "Trial by Fire" and find yourself to be, shall we say, more colorful, more enriched, more beautiful, you can relate to this, for this is what we see today, "after the great fire."

Our trip to Bar Harbor included a tour of the Acadia National Forest, ending in a lobster bake at Bar Harbor Inn.

One of the bridges built by Rockefeller.

Having grown up in the Mid West, the sights and scents and sounds of fall are manna to my soul.

All hail the Maine Lobster!

While on my New England/Canada Fall Foliage Cruise on NCL's the Norwegian Majesty, I planned my changes for the coming year. They will be big ones. And I planned ways to help my clients on their journey during 2009.
It was good to be on a cruise for this. "I must get down to the sea again..."
It was spectacular success. Next time we visit Saint John, Bay of Fundy. Stay tuned.

How to Handle the Anxiety

"Markets stay fearful" says the yahoo headline.

Is it time for some help with your anxiety levels as "the markets" mirror the havoc Pluto wreaks as it moves into Capricorn. Change, change - getting rid of what needs to go, enhancing what is good.

Anxiety and the stress that accompanies it can lead to chronic illness.

Here are some ways to help:

  • Get a reading ($28 for email reading until November 28th if you mention this offer - $60 for phone reading, which is more helpful at this time)
  • Take slow, deep breaths. Breathe the way you do when all is well - it sends soothing signals to your brain.
  • Music! (see my website www.susandunn.cc/vivoperlei.htm for all the benefits of music)
  • Increase brain-healthy supplements and foods in your diet, and eliminate more than ever the "junk"
  • Change the channel! Turn off the TV news. Don't listen to the news on the radio in the car. Don't read the newspaper. (The Fort Worth paper recently featured a front page photo of The Great Depression)
  • Yoga and other mind-focusers like Scrabulous or Sodoku
For specific guidance for your particular situation during this troubling time, email me for a reading, sdunn@susandunn.cc .

Cameron Diaz the Virgo

Cameron Diaz telling her boyfriend, Paul Sculfor, who had moved his stuff into her house, that she vants to be alone?? A VirgO?

Cameron, who admitted to being commitment phobic on the Ellen Degeneres show, has had her history with this.

So what's in the chart of this VIRGO that might make her so commitment shy?

Well she's independent, for sure. A moon in Taurus - she likes her stability and security, but there's also the conjunct Mars (fighter! masculine planet!) which is where she gets that kind of boyish energy and personality as well as wanting to be the boss in relationships. And not liking to be confined. Picture the bull in the china shop.

Her Venus is squared by Uranus, the planet of revolution and rebellion. They don't like to be dependent on others.

Virgos often live alone for long periods because they're so picky, picky ...

At the same time, all of us have experienced a difficult past month. The solar eclipse (between eclipses really), which makes this a hard two weeks. Then we have the Pluto retrograde meaning "surprises." Well Paul certainly got one of those 'surprises' I've been talking about. And we might expect it to reverse itself again, and maybe another time, before we can all settle down to New Lives in November.

And then there's the Uranus Retrograde until November 26. A time to reconsider attempts at separation and individuation you tried before that didn't work. One fellow astrologer puts it well - watch the choices right now, because there's no turning back to the way it used to be.

Surely this is a hard time for her and we wish her the best.

If you've ever lived with a Virgo, as I have, you might agree it's delightful, once they consider it their home and you as part of it. And sad when it ends.

From Molly Hall:

Astrology is an ancient study that is re-emerging into the culture as a force to be reckoned with. The study of the light energies within yourself, and the universe, can remind us that we're part of something awe-inspiring. The patterns that astrology reveals can help you understand yourself and others. Astrological wisdom helps you make the most of your life, and put the darkness or trials into perspective

As Pluto enters Capricorn, oh the things we will have to deal with. Typical of this time period, from reknown psychic Nancy Fenn:

On Monday, the US Treasury Secretary, Henry Paulson unveiled his plans to modernise the way that financial markets are policed. Mr Paulson's proposals, which he said would "require a great deal of discussion and take many years to complete", represent the biggest shake up of the financial regulatory system since the Great Depression.

Spitzer and Hubris - is it in his chart?

Some of this could have been seen from Spitzer's chart. There is also the effect of the Mars/Pluto. This is the classic time for karma and self-sabotage.

The only way you can exercise free will is if you are aware of what's going on, and what's in your chart that's likely to trip you up. There is always free will.

Need to know more about your chart, astrological conjuncts, and how to stay out of trouble? It's the smart thing to do. email me at semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com .

According to article on bloomberg.com - go here for full article.

``It's another instance in which a very smart, very powerful man brings himself down through his own hubris,'' said William Cunningham, a political consultant who worked on the senior staffs of former Democratic New York Governors Hugh Carey and Mario Cuomo. ``We have seen it with Richard Nixon, we've seen it with Bill Clinton, very successful people who think they have their own set of rules, and self-inflict their own wounds.'' Spitzer and Astrology

Pluto's First casualty --

Spitzer makes the headlines, and this is quite what to expect after this time period of Mars/Pluto. Things come out of the woodwork, so to speak.

If something like this has happened to you (I hope not) or someone you know or love, you'll be sorting things out now and it's a good time to get a reading, for direction.

To read more about his chart, etc., for here: http://astrology.about.com/b/2008/03/10/plutos-first-casualty.htm

Market Decline and Mars Retrograde

Global Market Decline Accelerates READS THE HEADLINE

Markets in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Sydney on Tuesday extended the losses they suffered Monday as fears of a recession roiled markets worldwide.

If this reminds you of what's been happening in your own life - the turbulent and volatility --
we'll all be glad when Mars goes direct again on January 30th. It's been retrograde since November 15 and a very difficult time for many of us.

But hold on to your hat and get yourself anchored, because Mars will remain opposing Pluto until the end of March. This is an extraordinarily potent time period.

What should you be doing now? How to prepare for the coming year? What strategy and energies to use? What to tweak, what to change and what to dump??

Mars and Pluto - en garde

Take care on Friday when Mars moves into opposition with Pluto, and Pluto moves from Sagittarius (been there since 1995) into Capricorn.

Mars-Pluto pits the war god against the dark Lord so be prepared for petty disputes, bit power struggles, nasty conflicts surfacing or re-surfacing.

And you thought I was talking about between you and others? Yes, could be ... or between you and you. What you want and what's thwarting you.

Yes, it's especially tempting to externalize these and project them onto others in lots of cases of 'mistaken identities', i.e., He feels like cheating so he accuses you of cheating. Your father had a bad temper, so you provoke your husband to have one.

Definitely a time for tire-slashing, ranting and raving, accusing others, starting nasty rumors, getting defensive ... and losing it.

In fact, take care on the 21st. If you're the kind of takes it out on yourself (having a fender-bender, losting your keys, 'forgetting' a deadline), take care. And watch out for those who take their nasties out on others, i.e., car accidents, turning you in to your boss, going after your guy, even acts of violence.

Leo - here's a note for you, your majesty. If someone else is the boss, take it easy. Acknowledge it, and then get busy. This is no time for a power play.
