Full Moon December 2009

This is one killer Full Moon going on. My phone has been ringing off the hook.
And stay tuned because we'll be having a Blue Moon on December 31, New Year's Eve. Pow!

FYI, the Moon represents the dark and the unknown -- the mysterious emotional depths that can be hidden even from ourselves. So the Full Moon can bring out the Shadow side. Like the werewolves, ya know.

This Full Moon is in Gemini - communication, changeability, short trips, and anything of a mercurial nature, and Mercury, the planet of communication, that rules Gemini in also active.

If you've had today - and tomorrow - experiences with people where there has been impulsivity, hasty speech and heightened nerves and tension, you aren't alone. Explosive outbursts of all kinds. And if you're a nervous little thing to begin with, I bet you got real nervous today.

This combines with Uranus changing direction (innovation and change), and this is a time when a big change can occur for you. Either imposed upon you, or one you make yourself -- if you were prepared.

Knowledge is power and nowhere does this apply as in astrology. Let me give you a reading.

This is a time when many BIG changes will occur (Look at Oprah. Look at Tiger Woods. Look into your own life, or the life of your neighbor.) Email me at sdunn@susandunn.cc for a reading.

Gu Gu DEFENDS Again. Was it the Full Moon?

Gu Gu, a 240 lb. panda at the Beijing Zoo attacked a visitor who jumped in to his pen. See story here. Gu Gu has attacked two others who have done this. In this case, zookeepers had to use tools to pry open the panda's jaws.

This article on msn.com has at its side a "special feature" video, Pandas at Play, calling them cute and cuddly.

Was it the Full Moon?

It's always good to keep in mind that the moon effects the tides, and emotions. Those who are "vulnerable" (old, sick, weak, under pressure) can snap.

Pandas are mammals, like humans. When someone violates our space, threatens our territory, we react. It's instinctive to defend your territory. Two others have been attacked; one was a teenager, another was drunk. Someone in their right might probably wouldn't try something like that.

During Full Moons, BACK OFF. People who have high-set rheostats are prime to over-react.

And don't go jumping in to someone else's home territory uninvited and unannounced!

We hope the man, unnamed, recovers, and that zookeepers will do the smart thing - restructure the situation so that people can't just jump in. Right now there is only a 5' retainer.

New Moon in Cancer - Family. Take Care of You. Wellness.

"A Safer Place" by Fenerty

Are you watching the moon now? It won't be long.

The coming Full Moon will be in Cancer, making us more aweare about nurturing. This means you too, sweetie!

Now some astrologers are seeing this as "the ideal time to pursue your existing health and fitness goals ... or to get inspired and create new ones for yourself." (Jeff Jawer)

Since I also work in a field called emotional intelligence, I jump to the essence of Cancer (to me) - the home, the family; and the bottom line on wellness: not being isolated. Studies show that isolation ("not being emotionally connected to others"), is worse on our health than high blood pressure, obesity and smoking, perhaps even combined.

Considering that the Sun's beneficent angle to Uranus will MAKE CHANGE EASIER (at last!), I see this as the big go-ahead to change/create/re-create your "Family."

Change + family =

  • Maybe you need another boyfriend

  • Maybe you need to divorce

  • Time to pop the question to that gal you know is the Right One

  • Maybe you should move to be closer to family

  • Time to adopt a child?

  • Time to get pregnant?
  • Maybe you should tell him to quit wasting your time
  • Time for you to start dating for real?

  • Maybe the conflicts within your own family have reached critical mass and it's time for you to go get another family, one that works for you

You've got thrust for wellness right now with the Sun in a harmonious angle to Uranus. It's easier to make changes, and also to envision changes, which is the beginning of being able to do it. Probably with the Pluto transit you've been considering a lot of changes. Well, there's not time like NOW.

Nurture yourself with a reading. Let me guide you on your path and show you how to use this great energy right now. Email me at sdunn@susandunn.cc .

If you are really into increasing your ability to connect, I recommend The EQ Course(tm). It teaches you about emotions - how they work, how to make them work for you, what the information they give you is all about,. EQ is for Emotional Intelligence. High emotional intelligence adds to your success. Remember, as my friend and fellow reader Leighton says, "The stars impel. They do not compel." The part that you can influence, is best managed with emotional intelligence.

The Angel Cards are now saying "romance" and "love." I don't feel it. She keeps rejecting me. Can you do another reading. I need to know if she and I are meant to be. Frustrated in Boston, Ma.

Biggest Full Moon of Year Pulls Tides in Italy

Tonight is the biggest full moon of the year ... .. and DO NOT EVER UNDERESTIMATE A FULL MOON
On the left High Tide, on the right Low Tide. (At the Bay of Fundy where I was this fall)

ITALY HIT BY TORRENTIAL RAIN; ROME DECLARES EMERGENCY reads the bloomberg headline.

The reporters are Alessandra Migliaccio and Flavia Krause-Jackson
Remember the moon pulls the tides. They report, "Almost a quarter of Venice is under water amid the highest tides in 22 years. The Tiber has flooded over its banks. Water is everywhere."

More from the article, and we send our prayers:
The city of Rome declared a state of emergency today ...

Record snowfall on Sicily’s Mount Etna, Europe’s highest active volcano, has left eight Boy Scouts stranded on the mountain.

Italy’s civil protection agency predicts another 36 hours of hail, heavy rain and snowfall after two weeks of storms pushed the country’s bridges, roads and transport systems to their limit.

The banks of the Tiber today spilled onto the city’s streets, threatening to submerge its island, and flooding created a lake around the 2,000-year-old Coliseum.

Many of Venice's small islands are submerged.

In Naples, civil protection phone banks were overwhelmed with hundreds of calls from alarmed citizens worried about the rain.
The moon pulls our emotions like the tides, and it's no coincidence that women go into labor at a Full Moon. It's also the origin of our words lunacy, looney, and lunatic.
So take it easy, and take it easy for the next couple of days aftermath. If not you, the person next to you on the highway, or cubicle or even bedroom! We have the Pluto transit, Uranus/Saturn, Christmas, and an economic crisis.

On Deck on a Cruise Ship - New England, Norwegian Majesty

On deck, we enjoyed watching disembarkation, the sunset, other people, relaxation, hot tub and music, the disembarkation of sister ship The Norwegian Spirit, and the sheer beauty of the ocean and the heavens. We traveled under a full moon.

One of my favorite things is to go to the top deck at the bow and watch the ship leave port. One of the first exciting events was to see if the ship could clear that bridge in the Philadelphia harbor. (Yes it did, by inches!)
Astrological tip: Plan a cruise under a Full Moon. It's great for contemplation and sorting things out. For more tips on timing trips, email me at sdunn@susandunn.cc .

Let's talk about the uses of anger ...

How was the Full Moon for You?

From today's mailbag:

Wow. Things really opening up. Got two job interviews today. Just had first one and it went well. They called and said my insurance was going OK. My stock broker called with good news. Thanks for the clarity in the reading and the advice you gave me. You were right. I held my tongue when he called. I did listen and you were right. He wasn't saying what I thought he was saying. Thanks.

Full Moons have a bad reputation. It's true people can get crazy, but if you are prepared, my slant on it is that it usually brings clarity to your situation, which changes your perceptions and then things open up. A reading can prepare you for this. Especially I recommend these for the fire signs, and also Cancers.

Full Moon - Will it Make Your Crazy?

Call of the Sea, in Sausalito is having a Full Moon Sail the night of October 26th. Some people plan cruises for full moons. There's just something about a Full Moon. Some people get romantic. Other people get crazy!!

Astrologically Full Moons are important times. They can be a time of clarity - like "by the light of the moon" or claire de lune implicates. But then, of course too, our word "lunacy" also comes from the moon (luna).

A reading can help!

The Full Moon will always 'pull' our emotions, like it does the tides.

According to The Guardian:

"There are some stories that hook right into our primeval suspicions, that are unsurprising because they reinforce things we have believed, in however woolly a way, all along. A recent discovery by the Sussex police force, that incidents of anti-social behaviour rise significantly whenever there is a full moon, is one of them. Inspector Andy Parr, who has the unenviable responsibility of policing Brighton at weekends, set the number of violent crimes his force had recorded in the past year against the dates on which they had been committed and found that they peaked on payday - and when the moon was full. They now plan to beef up their patrols at full moon. "

Anyone who works in an ER will tell you the same thing.

Stay safe this Full Moon. Learn more about it with a free mini-reading. Email me and mention this offer.

BTW, according to ancient Celtic lore, from which we get Halloween ... the best night in the year for a reading is Halloween Night. My schedule will fill up fast, so schedule yours now - semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com .

Good Timing for Your Holiday Travel

Let me help you planning your holiday travel.

FLYING FOR THE HOLIDAYS? BRACE YOURSELF is the article in the New York Times.

We have the following to work around as well:
November 24 - Full Moon
December 24 - Mars at Opposition. Mars makes its closest approach to Earth and its face will be fully illuminated by the Sun.
December 24 - Full Moon

Yes, it's going to be tight. They're talking about expecting absolutely full flights, and other messes. No chance to rebook if you get bumped. The usual weather problems in the upper part of the country. "Take water and food aboard with you, any medicine you might need in a delay, and a book or other diversion."

Email for a reading and let me help you with the timing. semiramis.appiamo@hotmail.com .

From the article:

If you can stand to fly on Thanksgiving or Christmas, you may find more seats available and at lower prices. Days to avoid, because of crowds and high fares, include the day before Thanksgiving, and the Sunday after. The weekends bracketing Christmas — it falls on a Tuesday this year — will also be tough.
You can check http://www.flightstats.com/ and http://www.flightaware.com/ to help you gauge potential delays.

Be forewarned: Some markets, Detroit, Washington, Houston and Boston — have fewer seats available this year at Thanksgiving because airlines have reduced capacity in spots. Others — notably Orlando, San Francisco, Denver, Seattle and Las Vegas — have more seats available, according to FareCompare.
